“Every time I've eaten here it's been delicious! I've been coming here since i was a toddler, many moons ago. This was the go to place for all the "Tia's" for tamale making get - togethers.Across the street, LA Gloria, they would buy the "maza" for the tamales fests. Great times. I don't make tamales anymore but i surely do go for the tacos and work Pot Lucks/Holiday work celebrations. It's not far from work. I give this 5 STARS!!!“
“The Best Pastrami sandwiches on the West coast!!! I love good food, good service, and a clean restaurant. It has it all. However, the location may make you change your mind, but you shouldn't. Langer's is a landmark, and in my opinion, much better than one of los angeles' other over-rated landmark eatery ( I will not disclose). I love the friendly staff too. The menu has other delectable dishes it is a deli after all. I sometimes order breakfast or a pattymelt ( it's so cheesy ). If you do go, say hi to Frank, Sue, Kevin, or Lupe. All of the servers here are great! I don't know everyone, name...my bad. I only review restaurants, coffee shops, and retailers if they are the absolute best. And Langer's is in my top ten.“
“Meals and memories are made here at Bianca’s deli. Bianca’s deli (est 1983) is a small Mediterranean deli cafe in East Hollywood. They serve fresh, healthy salads, wraps, sandwiches, panini and pasta. Furthermore, they offer good breakfast and coffee. They provide exceptional service and food. I came here over Lunch and ordered a Grilled chicken salad and a Pasta Primavera. Food was fresh and satisfying; portions were abundant for their modest price. Staff were assiduous, caring and professional.Overall, I enjoyed their service and food. I highly recommend this deli.“
“Worth the trip ? I have not been able to go here in years.Excellent sandwichsThe deli is fresh and made onsite. They made their own bread ?Highly recommend this place ?Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian sandwichThere are plenty of deli salads for vegetariansKid-friendliness: They have kis mealsWheelchair accessibility: You can par“
“I ordered the Jeff’s table for pickup. It was warm and delicious. The flavors were there, the portion is big. It was a little greasy for me but I still couldn’t stop eating! The sandwich left me full the whole day! My husband ordered the Neela. He described it as interesting - an explosion of flavors. If you like a milder taste in sandwiches then this is not the sandwich for you. We would go back, I would probably order the Jeff’s special again but my husband would try the other veggie option they have.“
“My only regret is that I didn’t come to Claro’s sooner. I have lived in the area for 33 years and barley went for the first time last week.I got the Great Grandpa Joe and the Mac Salad. Both delicious. I got my sandwich fast and the workers are in a happy mood and willing to have a conversation with you.Give them a try if you are a sandwich lover.“
“I had a craving for a hot Italian beef sandwich with hot giadiniera but they don't have it so I ordered a beef dip with the giadiniera added to it. It did not disappoint. I'm glad it came in a smaller size as well so I could finish the sandwich. Yum! I'll be back to try more.“
“Don't underestimate this little bodega! Their quality and service is top tier. The man who works in the morning is the sweetest and works quickly! The everything bagels are my favorite and their matcha is perfect!!! Sandwiches are amazing too. Love everything about this place.“
“Was craving for a good italian sub and found this hidden gem near my work! Located across from the hospital. Parking was easy; street and parking lot behind the restaurant. Inside was filled with Italian goodies. They sold alcohol, cookies, bread, pasta, cheese, etc. Towards the back of the restaurant was tables to sit down and enjoy your sandwich. Came here for the 1st time with my coworker and we tried the Classic 6' sub with 2 sides. I got the macaroni salad and broccoli salad. The sides tasted ok to me but could be better. However, the sandwich was very tasty. I love how much meat and filling it was. I ate it all! We got a piece of tiramisu and that was very very good! The prices are affordable and the portions are huge. Definitely a place to go for lunch or anytime you are carving for a good Italian sandwich! *TIP: call to place your order if you are in a time crunch. We waited for 30 minutes for our food.“
“I must say, I dont eat birria tacos that much, but this was fantastic. Came here on a Saturday night and there was a line. If theres a line, you have to assume that its pretty decent. Since we were out in the area, we really wanted Chinese food, but this place just kept on calling our name. We got the tacos with cheese and the consume on the side. The tacos were so juicy and flavorful an the cheese was just oozing out of the tacos. The consume was salty and almost like a beef broth. 3 tacos were definitely a decent amount since we also ordered other food from a different restaurant. Like all food trucks, there is no where to sit unless its the sidewalk. They also have a variety of other options like burritos, tortas, and quesadillas if tacos arent your thing. Staff was friendly and everything was made hot and quick. It was so hot that my food was still steaming. Would definitely come back again!“
“Are you kidding!!! Nothing flashy, jus a very fresh, well made meal.. no cheap meat, and the potato salad was nice, cheese cake, pickles, chips, little fruit cup, jus ol fashion good, you get what you pay for.njoy life.. only bother isi can't eat melon, so the give you a alternate instead..“
“Wanda is a wonderful owner and the food she serves is incredibly. To have this quality food option at such generous portions in this neighborhood is an absolute bliss. I got the hummus sammy - the size of an infant, mind you! Loved the flavors - it's what I would want all of my patients to eat; light, heathy, filling, delicious, sustainable.“
“I wandered by abnd was quickly greeted by server. She asked what i would like before I was seated... I went with the lule plate and a drink. I was served rather quick. I was rewarded with a fragrant plate. The server warned me the hot sauce is spicy. Of course this the first thing I tried haha. She was not lying it had a good kick to it. The meat was juicy flavorful, and bit pink? I was ok with that. The bread was delicious. The only thing I was disapointed was the plastic cutlery. 1/3 into the meal poink! the fork break cutting the lule. Luckily there was enough of the handle to continue. I finished up and paid inside and left a happy camper.“
“Stopped by to pick up menudo because my boyfriend was under the weather. It looks like it is a small family own restaurant. It was very clean. The server was very friendly. She sat us down quickly and service was prompt. They have champurrado during the cold weather, and we ordered 1. It was very tasty! The texture was very creamy, and not too sweet. They also offered homemade chips and dips. The chips came out warm. Menudo was served hot, I mean very hot. It was flavorful that is perfect for the cold weather. Will come back again for menudo!“
“I drove by on a Sunday at 10 am and was so incredibly disappointed that it wouldn't be open for another hour. This place is legitimately amazing. Not sure how they take the same ingredients as everyone else (deli meat, bread, cheese, veggies, and condiments) and work miracles. Huge delicious sandwich that you should not attempt in one sitting, but if you do, then know that you will have died doing something you love.“
“These delectable creations feature tender meat nestled in freshly baked rolls and dipped in savory jus, creating a flavor sensation that keeps patrons coming back for more. The vintage ambiance of the establishment adds to its allure, transporting diners to a bygone era of classic charm. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Philippe The Original offers an unforgettable taste of LA history that is not to be missed.“
“Hidden gem of a spot next to the gas station. The hand painted sign caught my eye as we were driving past and I'm glad we stopped. Got The Heights sandwich and it did not disappoint. We ordered two sandwiches and they were made up quick, we looked around the bottle shop while we waited. They've got a great selection of waters, soda, wine, beer, and kombucha for such a small footprint. I really liked the card system they had describing the bottles of wine and where they're from. Service was friendly and I want to come back for takeaway pasta and a bottle of wine for dinner some night soon.“
“This place is absolutely wonderful. This place gives wonderful food and wonderful atmosphere. I see some reviews on here that don’t make any sense. To rate this place less than 5 stars in absurd. Whoever writes a bad review about this place is a complete fool. I love Oink and Gobble!!!“
“Tony's has been a top sandwich spot for me. I don't usually eat sandwiches, but when I do, this place is the best. My top favorite sandwich is the pastrami with avocado. The Mexican tuna sandwich is excellent also. You can't go wrong with a sandwich from Tony's. The area is okay. There's plenty of parking in the back lot and street parking.“
“Grade A (95): St Vincent Deli, is my favorite restaurant in the alley. I can't believe how much food comes out of this tiny little restaurant. They have Shawerma (gyros style) but tastes amazing. They have fresh home made food as a feature every day. I specially love Thursdays (Kufteh) which is ground beef kebab in small finger like shape in tomato sauce and fries (delicious). The alley is an Historic and cozy Alley with hidden gems as restaurants.“
“This is officially my new favorite sandwich spot in DTLA. Tucked inside the St. Vincent alley (which itself is something special for a later review), you'll find a deli market with a nice assortment of Armenian treats and friendly staff who actually helped me pick out my first two items: the house pastrami sandwich and my personal favorite, the Soujouk sandwich. Get this! The Soujouk sandwich is made with this fantastic Armenian sausage, cheese, and tomato on a perfectly toasted French roll that had the right amount of crunchy and fluffy bite. Five out of five stars for this little gem.“
“Working from home and felt like something other than cooking. Wanting something fast, I yelped take-out near me and found this gem. I've been living here my whole life and have never been here. I decided to give them a try. Best choice: I got the Cold Cut on a roll with the macaroni salad on the side, It's a safe choice, right? I kept it simple to give it a try. Portion size is perfect. They're not greedy with their condiments since so many restaurants have been cutting corners on portion sizes. (It's understandable). The macaroni salad was perfect, along with the seasoning. There are only few sandwich places here in Boyle Heights now, unlike when you would go to your local convenience store, and 5 dollars would cover you for lunch. This place brought me a nostalgic moment as soon as I walked in, and it took me back to my local convenience store from high school.“
“I ordered the baja tuna sandwich, and it cost around $10-$11 dollars ? ?. There was a party ?✨️? in my taste buds ??. It's been a little while since I have had a nice tasty tuna sandwich. I really enjoyed it. The lime cucumber chia drink was good, too. I also like that there was a lot of parking and seats to eat during lunchtime. I will come back again to try something else to eat here. I appreciate the service here. It was great. ?“
“Tasty Banh Mis. I always get the sardine along with either the pork or chicken. All made fresh to order. They include a small au jus of the specific Banh Mi you order-nice touch. ? Parking is a challenge since it right on Hyperion so if you see a spot, take it.“
“This is a small local mom & pop restaurant. The food doesn't look fancy but it's very good. We have been going to this restaurant for years. We are so glad that their business survived COVID. My favorite appetizer is a cold dish called mala beef. The meat ball (lion head) is very good. The noodles and house fried rice are yummy too.“
“I work in the area, and I get tired of the monotony of the same old, same old. As soon as I step up to the counter at Slicers I feel like I just stepped into Brooklyn's streets and I am taken back into my days living in Bay Ridge, walking from Sunset Park to Dyker heights, you will find some of the best delis in America. Slicers THANK YOU for bringing that same experience here on the West Coast... you make me miss Brooklyn every time I visit!“
