“It’s not too often that I stop at a Michoacana store, but this location somehow always manages to serve everything with a positive and enthusiastic attitude everytime I stop by to buy something! Most stores usually have little to not much variety, but this location always has something in store for everyone! It has flavors for ice cream that other locations don’t seem to have. They always try to introduce something new and refreshing that anyone can and will enjoy! Whenever I have entered this store, they always have fresh corn for an esquite or fresh fruit for hot summer days. “I was a JA kid in the 80s and 90s. After CYC basketball games and Tamiya Mini 4WD races, my family would head to the third floor of Yaohan and enjoy the great flavors of Hana-Ichimonme. This was, hands down the best ramen in downtown back then, and I can't wait to taste it once this pandemic is over. Okaerinasai!“

“Los Alpes has always been there for me on hot summer days. Their ice cream and revueltos are extremely satisfying. I always take a box of a dozen paletas to go for my family at home. The service is quick and the staff are knowledgeable. The only downside is the location, there is never any street parking which has certainly turned me away sometimes. Sometimes you get lucky and find parking. 9/10 do recommend and support local businesses!“

“My son is moving into the neighborhood and after the drive/unpacking, we were both craving a treat on such a hot day.
We discovered Anko within walking distance of his apartment.
Wonderful service and cute ambience.
There is nothing like the fluffy and cloudy texture of binsu ice. I chose the pumpkin with red beans, to try something different. The flavor of the pumpkin was very subtle. I enjoyed the refreshing treat, not too sweet.
My son said that his iced matcha latte hit the spot.
I want to try that taiyaki next time I come to visit.“

“Definitely the place to be on Sunday fun day! If you miss home in Hawaii, you'll feel like you are home not just because of the ono food but the incredibly courteous and caring staff. I drove up from Orange County and, the moment I walked in, I was greeted with an ALOHA and watched the place get packed. It was a perfect place to meet up with friends! Spam & eggs with rice for breakfast hit the spot. Malasadas are fresh and warm! Then they added live musicians playing Hawaiian music and I didn't want to leave. Highly recommend and plan to return again!“

“Wife and I enjoyed our first Korean style shave ice, or Bing Soo. We ordered small size, one each of black sesame and mango cream flavors. Both were delucious, but at $13 each, it is a pricey dessert. It might be better to share, if you can agree on one flavor. Bing Soo house is actually located within the Korean supermarket of the strip mall. There are several restaurants in the strip mall, not shown on Google maps, including shops serving: Korean bbq, K broth, K noodles, & Pho.“

“Refreshing Korean shaved ice with fruits. (Not to be confused with Hawaiian shaved ice.) The price tag appears a little steep for ice at first glance, but it is more substantial in content and presentation, so it is not as bad in the end. A better price point would be a dollar less.“

“I didn’t have high hope because most shaved ice places don’t have the right texture but this place had both texture and flavor. Soft pillowy snowy shaved ice with refreshing fruit flavors like guava and passion fruit and rich deep flavors that included Thai tea and pandan. Adding this to my must go to list. Reasonably priced too, which is rare these days. 5+ stars!!“

“The restaurant on the third floor that used to have mariachi shows is boarded up and closed. They been closed since the Covid shutdown. Everything else is open. There is still plenty of food and small booths selling leather goods, makeup, piñatas, traditional Mexican dresses and shirts, and lots more.“

“When I first got there it was kinda dirty on the outside but I think it had to do with the teens outside. The workers were nice and it was quick. My favorite part was everything felt homemade. She gave us our prices on a calculator and we payed through her phone. She asked if we wanted ice cream in a box and it was a cut out Oreo box. Some people may not like this but it felt like they used what they could easily access. Also the ice creams were good. My picky sister who only wanted McDonald’s enjoyed it. I am writing this on the way back in traffic because the road was shut down and we can’t leave. Supposed to give my brother ice cream but it will probally be melted when I have back home late.“

“I have been coming here for multiple times, but this business is something else like they are very passionate in making their stuff and serving their customers. For example, their esquite is very refreshing and not very soggy and their blend ice and raspados are very delicious and tasty like they use fresh ingredients and taking their time to serve the best for their customers. I forgot to mention that it is a family business, but the only downside is that they don't accept any card payments or Apple Pay, just only cash to give you a heads up.

I always get an esquite with everything including spice and also a caramel blend ice.“

I had the chance to try the Banana Pudding Matcha, Mango Sticky Rice Matcha, and Dubai Pistachio Matcha—and the banana pudding and mango options definitely stole the show. The fruit tasted fresh, and the mix-ins were generous. The mango sticky rice matcha is more of a treat you’ll want to enjoy with a spoon or fork, so keep that in mind. The Dubai pistachio matcha was decent, though the chocolate flavor came through very lightly.

The location is great, with beautiful decor and convenient tap-to-pay options. They use ceremonial-grade matcha, which is a nice touch. There’s also plenty of parking, and the staff is consistently kind—we’ve never waited more than five minutes for our drinks.“
