“I first visited this amazing local deli in 1989-1990. I remembered the half loaves of bread stacked high with a pile of my choice of meats and cheeses. Although I was only 18-19, Compagno’s established my standard for an amazing sandwich. 32 years later I brought my sons here for lunch. Same delicious goodness a generation later.“

“Great staff, it’s always clean, and they make amazing sandwiches. This place tends to get real busy at lunch time; I recommend calling ahead. You you also have a choice of delicious breads, and you can customize your sandwich if you wish! The staff is always courteous, and quick. Their egg salad sandwich is really delicious, you just have to try it!“

“Amazing gyros that were so delicious! The tzatziki was the best we've ever had, and the meat was tender and flavorful. The portion was good with substantial fillings. Quick service for a speedy meal. There were small tables outside to eat. We highly recommend and we will go again.“

“We are visiting and came across this great deli! We decided to grab a sandwich and take a break. The decor is absolutely one of a kind! It's a visual delight. It has no theme, just years of collecting.
The sandwich we got was awesome! I can say that without a doubt, that was the BEST sandwich I've ever eaten. If we ever get back to Monterey, I will be at this deli getting me a sandwich!! WOW“

“So glad I finally stopped by! Restaurants were super busy and I needed to grab a bite to eat. Was not disappointed. Had a delicious veggie breakfast burrito. Everything was flavorful and the staff was so delightful! They have a wide range of options and even a salad bar.“
