Back in December, my family was dining there when the owner came over and shared his story behind Riley’s, a tribute to a beloved Labrador who changed his life. He took the time to truly connect with us, and we left thinking, “Wow, this guy is different. He cares.” Fast forward seven months, and I reached out to him with a heartbreaking story about our extended family’s red fox lab, Wrigley, who we lost suddenly and tragically. I hoped he could do something small to honor Wrigley, but his response overwhelmed us. He listened deeply, reacted with empathy, and went above and beyond to honor this pup in a way that brought us comfort and healing. Riley’s on Sutter has now become a special place for our family to gather and remember Wrigley. “Great first experience! I was traveling back through Folsom and saw that this place had plant-based meats. I tried both the Impossible steak and plant-based turkey, on separate mini sandwiches, to be clear. To make it vegan, I omitted the mayo and cheese. Both were still so delicious, as were the fries! The service was great as well. The gentleman that helped take our order was super pleasant, answered all our questions and was so patient with us. I really hope a shop opens up closer to me, otherwise I will be stopping back through the next time I'm in the area.“

Unfortunately, the sushi and rolls were pretty average and not as flavorful as I expected. They weren’t terrible, but they definitely didn’t stand out and left me a bit disappointed. Maybe other items on the menu are better, but based on the sushi alone, I probably wouldn’t come back.“

I was especially impressed with the roasted vegetables in my wife’s salad, the quality of the chicken, and the spicy green sauce on my enchilada. “The pizza is pretty good. Better than the majority these days. Atmosphere is a hole in the wall local neighborhood favorite. Prices are a bit high so I'd expect more from the pizza but I can't honestly give it a 4 as it's a solid 4.5. Service was great and welcoming. The pizza balls were delicious. Don't eat them cold as they taste like bread instead of pizza dough. If I can eat a cold pizza the next day, then it's somewhere I'll come back. The pizza was good the next day but the pizza balls weren't good like they were when they were hot. Overall a good pizza and I'll probably be back.“

When we picked up our food, two of the young workers couldn't help us with this promotion, so we spoke with the manager. She also said sorry we can't help you! “So last night I was on doordash looking for restaurants in Folsom that were open and sounded good. I don't actually use doordash other than for inspiration and to see pictures/reviews. I noticed that there was a calzone place that was supposedly close by to where I live. This was strange to me as I didn't know there was a calzone place. It turns out, the pizza guys sell calzones through doordash but there is nothing on the website or in the store, that I noticed, so I asked in person if I could order one directly from them. They said yes! Look on doordash for the different flavors, but I got the Santa Cruz, which was like a Hawaiian pizza calzone. It came out hot and it was SO delicious! They are hiding these from you, so go get you one! You just need to ask.“

“I really love being able to order food online. I select my meal, pay, and choose the time for it to be prepared. I simply show up and pick up my order right on time. No apps, no sketchy subscriptions, and no lines. As an added bonus, the food is incredibly fresh, and there are plenty of options to suit any preference.“

“The sandwiches are amazing (especially the bread). There is a wide variety of toppings and meat, and decent prices. Although it is a little on the pricier side, the cost is worth it. It is perfect for smaller groups (2-3) but fits larger groups easily. Interior is great, with a pool table and shuffleboard? I think it’s shuffleboard. Either way it’s fun.

“I went into Beach Hut Deli thinking I’d grab a quick sandwich… and left questioning why all sandwiches don’t taste this good.

First off, the vibe is elite..feels like you’re on a mini vacation instead of just grabbing lunch. Super chill, no stress, just good energy all around. The staff were cool too..fast, friendly, and didn’t make me feel rushed while I was clearly taking way too long to decide what I wanted.

Now the sandwich… ridiculous (in the best way). Fresh ingredients, stacked like they actually care, and the bread? Perfect. Not too hard, not too soft, whoever figured that out deserves a raise. Every bite was one of those “okay yeah, this was the right decision” moments.

Portions are no joke either. I went in hungry and still had that moment halfway through where I realized I might’ve overestimated myself.

10/10 would absolutely come back. If you’re thinking about going, just go. Your future self will thank you.“
