Shanghai Tapas Reviews
The beef noodle soup was absolutely delicious. The soup was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were great. The xiaolongbao and shengjianbao tasted just like the ones I had in Shanghai, which was such a nice surprise. The spring rolls were also amazing and freshly made. On top of that, the owner was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back again!
Love this place! The food portions are generous, flavorful, and fresh! You won’t get any more authentic Chinese food as Chef Wong is from Shanghai and can help with any Shanghai dishes you may be craving, just make sure you call in advance if you plan to order outside their menu. This is definitely my go to for fresh, authentic Chinese food.
Absolutely delicious! Friendly staff and great portions. Everything came out hot and fresh.

Shanghai Tapas is a cozy and welcoming restaurant that offers authentic Shanghai food. The atmosphere is quaint and adorable, with wooden seating and friendly, helpful staff who treat customers like family. The menu features a variety of traditional dishes, many of which are highly praised by diners. One favorite is the Shanghai Stir-Fried thick noodles, which are thick, chewy, and flavorful, with vegetables that taste just like in Shanghai. The pan-fried pork buns (numbers 5 and 6), served with a drink underneath, are crunchy on the outside and delicious inside, with flavorful pork. The beef noodle soup is also a popular choice, known for its tender meat and flavorful broth that is slightly sweet, salty, and earthy. Other dishes like the green beans and Shanghai style soy braised pork (红烧肉) are recommended for their authentic taste.
Desserts include the Glutinous Rice Balls in Fermented Rice Soup, which are chewy, sweet, and sesame-filled, similar to mochi, and considered very addictive. The honey walnut prons and fried rice are also enjoyed by diners. The restaurant occasionally offers special deals, such as a 2 for 1 on beer, adding to its appeal. While some reviews mention minor issues like undercooked dumplings or flavors that vary slightly, overall, the food is fresh and made to order, with many returning for the authentic taste. Despite being located in a strip mall, Shanghai Tapas impresses with its authentic flavors, cozy setting, and attentive service, making it a favorite spot for lovers of traditional Shanghai cuisine.
