We were seated in a large room filled with big tables. It was extremely loud, and there was no view at all—just four walls and a huge TV. Honestly, it wasn't the atmosphere I was expecting.
The food is the best Chinese cuisine I've had in the U.S., nearly rivaling the meals I've enjoyed in Hong Kong and China. The ingredients are exceptionally fresh, with high-quality meats and seafood, and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't delicious. Our group of four are all devoted fans of Chinese food, so we ordered an extensive selection from the lunch and dim sum menus, along with one outstanding entrée from the dinner menu. I can't recommend specific dishes because everything...read full review
I and some of my friends came to explore the quality of the food and ambience. I am seeking an venue for my husband's memorial which will be close to 100 people. Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant offers stunning views of the San Francisco Bay, making it the perfect spot for both locals and tourists. The restaurant's location is highlighted by breathtaking sunset views, including sights of the Bay Bridge and, on clear days, the Golden Gate Bridge. Convenient parking is available, though it can fill up quickly during events. The dim sum and main menu are outstanding, with customers praising dishes like the delicious braised Yee Foo egg noodles with dried scallops and mushrooms, and excellent salmon fried rice. While some dim sum items, such as the baked pork buns and siu mai, are tasty, the wait staff has faced criticism for not bringing requested items in a timely manner. The quality of service could use improvement, as customers have had to wave down servers occasionally. The restaurant provides a visually appealing experience, especially for special occasions like weddings, where the food, including fish dishes and fried octopus balls, has received positive feedback. However, the space can feel tight during events, and the sound system may be hard to hear. The reasonable corkage fee and the nice staff have also been appreciated by diners.
