One of the best tiger milks I’ve had in the USA.As our main entre we had La Gran Jalea and Lomo Saltado. It is a huge portion and would recommend as a family dish. You can share with +4 people it’s a grand portion. All the seafood that comes in the dish is fried and crispy. The sauces are everything, but do not miss out on the salad that comes with the dish! It compliments the fried food well!The lomo saltado was so tender and juicy. The vegetables and fries keep their integrity which is sometimes hard to do with Lomo Saltado. Highly recommend!The service was also swift and attentive. The ambiance is lively with great Latin hits. I’d recommend for a girls night out to get the vibes started.“

“Love these guys and what they're doing. The chef is very hands-on, even doing the shopping at numerous places every week, including his local farmer's market. Sit at the bar if you can (only four stools, sadly) and watch the kitchen in action. And when it comes to the small but well-curated wine list, put yourself in the hands of the staff, who are passionate about the pairings. Our waiter is a former chef who now works front of house - we think it's because he had too much personality to keep him in the back of house!“

“The food is fine but nothing extraordinary. The staff is great and will treat you well and they are very attentive. The food, however, is just okay. I've definitely had better Peruvian food but wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. If you're in the are it's worth checking out. The mojito I got was great though, definitely a highlight.“

“Best kept secret of El Sobrante: El Chalan, Peruvian and Italian restaurant, offers a family atmosphere with great food at a good price. Warm bread and butter is served from the beginning. Their roast 1/2 chicken and whole fried trout, with home style french fries are very popular. Their sea food dishes, especially the seafood soups are delicious. The Italian food is also excellent. Butter nut squash raviolis, gnocchi, and spaghetti are cooked perfectly. Kids love this place.“

Both work excellent. The maricua, lucuma and picaronea were authentic and delicious. I tried both the pisco sour and maricua sour. As everything else, top notch.“

I went with 3 friends and we enjoyed our shared meal. Minus one star because I was overcharged and not given the happy hour price for the item I ordered.“
