“Awesome food truck! It’s usually parked over at 3 Corners Market on Myrtle Ave so it’s easy to grab refreshments while you wait. All the flavors are on point! I tried the chili relleno this time and it was the best I’ve had since moving to Humboldt 5 yrs ago. We got some churros for dessert too and they were amazing. We love this food truck, and we super love it’s so close to our home. Not close to your house? No prob, head up to Freshwater reserve or Freshwater Park (no dogs tho) to enjoy your food with a great view.“

“This has been my favorite place for amazing Mexican Food since they opened. I've always felt like family there. Even when I was homeless they treated me with love and respect. I can't count the number of times I've accidentally showed up right after closing and instead of telling me they were closed I was invited in with my family to have dinner with their family. “Completely empty when my husband and I went in. I was concerned that no one was there, but we decided to give it a go and I’m so glad we did. I had a wet veggie burrito and my husband had a wet super burrito with carnitas. Wet burritos weren’t on the menu, but the (owner?) was very accommodating. She was the only one working and her kid was sitting at a table playing. It felt like one of our moms was cooking for us! It was such a cool vibe. She cooked quickly and it was truly delicious. The salsa on the wet burritos was spicy and delicious. Big burritos! We will definitely be back soon!“

“Sebastian is great! I go here about once a week. He remembers my order as soon as he sees me and is VERY fast! When there's no one else in line, I generally wait less than 5 min, and no longer than 10 min for lunch when it is busy. Prices recently went up but that's likely because the price of everything has gone up recently.“

“I have been going to Cocina Mariposa regularly since moving to Humboldt in January 2019. I have tried a fairly large portion of the menu at this point. Every single thing I have ordered has invariably been fresh and absolutely delicious.

For me, particular highlights are the chili relleno plate, the tacos (with habanero salsa if you like spicy), and the California burrito. If you're into Mexican breakfast, their breakfast tortas and chilaquiles are excellent. But really, order anything that sounds good, it'll probably be great!

Their agua frescas are also to die for. They are made with real juice and are unlike most of the agua frescas you'll have had in your life.

They are also VERY knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan cuisine, and are willing to alter menu items to fit these diets within reason.

This review is long overdue, but I recommend Cocina Mariposa to the highest degree. It really is a gem in a restaurant landscape that is otherwise dubious.“

“This location is on of a few still left at the Bayshore Mall. To me this stands as a testament of their large menu options and delicious food. Today I had my 35th Torta in Humboldt County from a 35th different location. The Torta was real good. It was a nice sized sandwich and had all the fixings, carnitas, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño and avocado. It wasn’t a chart topper but I give it a good review.“
