“What a night! On vacation in Eureka, we asked a local at the dog park for a dining recommendation. Our server was Jake, and he performed quite well. Old Town Eureka was prepped for the Christmas walk, parking was free, and it was unseasonably warm.
Polenta crostini.
Arancini stuffed with butternut squash risotto.
Brussels sprouts.
Wood-fired hen with fingerling potatoes.
Grilled steelhead with lobster risotto.
Chocolate torte with s’mores topping.

“My parents and I, having already been fans of your parent company, finally decided to check out this extension and ordered your chicken Tandoori pizza on Superbowl Sunday, 2025. The quality and flavor of the pizza was absolutely amazing, just like anything that we've had at your parent location. We definitely look forward to trying out more recipes in the future. Once I get past this winter and don't have as strict of a budget, I definitely look forward to occasionally taking advantage of your buffet, thereby sampling all the things. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“I really enjoy most about this location. The things offered here are above and beyond a local coffee shop which is nice. But the thing that's a bit off-putting is the fact that the service is not exactly friendly. My daughter really needed a glass of water and the pitcher was empty. When I asked for it to be filled, I got a very annoyed and sarcastic response from the lady. She said it's coming someone will do it. 10 minutes later it still wasn't done so I asked again, I got the same response, another 10 minutes later still not done so I stood at the counter and asked for a cup of water for a 4 year old. Yet again I was told with a meaner ton it's coming. It honestly feels like even small business don't seem to care about decent customer service anymore even though we customers are paying quite a lot of money supporting these places.“

“I have been going to Cocina Mariposa regularly since moving to Humboldt in January 2019. I have tried a fairly large portion of the menu at this point. Every single thing I have ordered has invariably been fresh and absolutely delicious.
For me, particular highlights are the chili relleno plate, the tacos (with habanero salsa if you like spicy), and the California burrito. If you're into Mexican breakfast, their breakfast tortas and chilaquiles are excellent. But really, order anything that sounds good, it'll probably be great!
Their agua frescas are also to die for. They are made with real juice and are unlike most of the agua frescas you'll have had in your life.
They are also VERY knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan cuisine, and are willing to alter menu items to fit these diets within reason.
This review is long overdue, but I recommend Cocina Mariposa to the highest degree. It really is a gem in a restaurant landscape that is otherwise dubious.“

“Walked into MOD in Eureka there was quite a few patrons sitting and enjoying their meal. No wait in line we walked ordered our entrées. We had custom Personal and cheesy bread. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean, and staff was extremely friendly and helpful on the MOD! So fun and delicious!“

“the quality of the locally sourced food is impressive. I am lucky enough to work at Cafe Nooners. I have never experienced a more positive work environment nor felt as welcome as I have here since day one. There's good reason this Cafe has been so successful for so long. The tri-tip sandwich is my favorite, but I find I enjoy their vegan dishes almost as much. Try the chocolate chip cookies made fresh from scratch!“

“The food is always good. I'm a repeat customer here. The service is very polite, plenty of seating with a friendly atmosphere. Also, bar seating if you prefer. Price is pretty average from what you'd expect from other restaurants that are similar. As stated before, the food is always good and they give you A LOT of it!! Definitely a restaurant you should try. They've been here for over 21 years. Enjoy.“

“This is nice little corner pizza place. A nice view of the surrounding buildings, friendly employees that make the atmosphere feel like going to a friends house, and not to mention the large pizza pieces that are as big as your head. A good place to take the kids or even a lunch date. Located near old town at a convinient corner spot. Look for the miniature statue of liberty in front of the building.“

“went to Los bagels for the first time a week ago as we were making our way through the PNW. Their bagles are so good and the berry scones.... yes please. no matter how busy the line had gotten the whole staff showed grace and diligence in their work and the own should be proud to have hired such a great group. hope to make my way soon in october“

“My dinner was delicious & our table overlooked Humboldt Bay & all the boats anchored at Woodley Island. We also had delicious desserts & wine. I had a lobster sushi dinner & a cucumber salad. My friend had a fettuccine plate with French bread & a salad. They have both Japanese & Italian food!“
