Specific issues: - Filthy floor - Unclean tables (including ours) - Lack of attention to detail despite sufficient staff With better focus on cleanliness, Pineapple Express could provide a more enjoyable experience. “Went here last second and by looking at the menu quickly. The food definitely catches your eye. We were definitely surprised by how trendy the restaurant looked inside. It has an upscale club vibe with a beautiful bar that changes colors. We were quickly seated. Our waitress was friendly and knew the menu pretty well. I chose the filet mignon and was happy with the steak. It was tender and well seasoned. The vegetables weren't as good. Lastly, drinks were amazing. “I have been going to Cocina Mariposa regularly since moving to Humboldt in January 2019. I have tried a fairly large portion of the menu at this point. Every single thing I have ordered has invariably been fresh and absolutely delicious.

For me, particular highlights are the chili relleno plate, the tacos (with habanero salsa if you like spicy), and the California burrito. If you're into Mexican breakfast, their breakfast tortas and chilaquiles are excellent. But really, order anything that sounds good, it'll probably be great!

Their agua frescas are also to die for. They are made with real juice and are unlike most of the agua frescas you'll have had in your life.

They are also VERY knowledgeable about vegetarian and vegan cuisine, and are willing to alter menu items to fit these diets within reason.

This review is long overdue, but I recommend Cocina Mariposa to the highest degree. It really is a gem in a restaurant landscape that is otherwise dubious.“

“Love this place for a quick lunch. The Mod size personal pizza (it’s a thin crispy crust, but they DO have a thicker crust option) is enough for lunch with a couple of pieces left over to take home for later. Love that you can build your own pizza with as many toppings as you want for one price or you can pick one of their creations as is or use it as a starting point and add/subtract toppings to make it your own. Same with their salads, you can add any of their pizza toppings & make a fantastic and filling salad. Also love their cheesy breadsticks. Staff is always super friendly and helpful and we have always felt very welcome and taken care of every time we eat here. Pizzas cook quickly, less than 10 minutes and no extra charge for a cup of ranch with your pizza. Also, they have the most awesome little bits of crunchy ice for their fountain drink, if you’re into that kind of thing like we are! If you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out on some delicious crispy, thin crust pizza with high quality toppings.“

I have never experienced a more positive work environment nor felt as welcome as I have here since day one. There's good reason this Cafe has been so successful for so long. Dine in take out it worth it any way you choose. I frequent here quite a bit. My kids love their pizza. They offer lunch specials. The nostalgic TV shows for me is a great experience. “I have had the chicken Pho a couple of times, it is always flavorful and delicious. Just the right amount of flavor and spice and with plenty of meat. Not too salty so you can add if you like. There are 4 kinds of noodles you can choose from. The large bowl is huge and they have an extra condiment tray that has crunchy chili and ground peanuts. Awesome!“
