“Riley’s on Sutter isn’t just a restaurant – it’s a place overflowing with heart, soul, and genuine connection. Back in December, my family was dining there when the owner came over and shared his story behind Riley’s, a tribute to a beloved Labrador who changed his life. He took the time to truly connect with us, and we left thinking, “Wow, this guy is different. He cares.” Fast forward seven months, and I reached out to him with a heartbreaking story about our extended family’s red fox lab, Wrigley, who we lost suddenly and tragically. I hoped he could do something small to honor Wrigley, but his response overwhelmed us. He listened deeply, reacted with empathy, and went above and beyond to honor this pup in a way that brought us comfort and healing. Riley’s on Sutter has now become a special place for our family to gather and remember Wrigley. Beyond the incredible kindness of the owner, the food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We’ve interacted with several staff members, all of whom were exceptionally nice—and yes, they all seem to be dog lovers! I even joked with one employee that it must be a job requirement. “I just want to say not only are the sandwiches and sauce are fire, they were the kindest on thanksgiving. I am not sure if it was the manager or owner working but he is kind to let his staff take the day off. But also that special sauce is fire and bread is perfect.“

“These are some of the best sandwiches I have had in the area! The bread is always nice and soft, all the ingredients are fresh and taste great. Then 2 for deal is insane. Small sub with a salad. Salads are huge and taste fantastic. I have a kid that would get the hot Bobbie every day if they could, she loves thanksgiving and this brings her joy. And if I am being honest I could probably eat at capriottis every day also. Only thing that's not great is the parking, but that's totally out of their hands, it's a new community and the restaurants located here are popular“

However, the gentleman who works at the front counter and the woman who sat us didn't seem like they were having a good evening. No, hello or how are you even after I asked them how they were doing. It almost made you feel as if you were a nuisance/annoyed they had to deal with speaking to you therefore it didn't feel welcoming at all. We were seated quickly as it was around 7pm on a Saturday and not overly busy.

Our server changed that non welcoming feeling. She immediately greeted us with a smile and was very friendly and helpful. I really wish I remembered her name but I hadn't planned on leaving a review until I got a yelp notification asking me to do so.

We will definitely be back because of the service she provided and all 3 of us in our party enjoyed our food. If the food hadn't been good and our server had been like the first two employees, we wouldn't be open to dining here again, so both of those things saved our experience.

“I love this place and after eating there actually looked up to see if I could buy stock...because I think it's that good. The menu is unique and the food is fresh tasting. The managers and staff are above and beyond in terms of customer service. I have an autoimmune issue and have to eat gluten free, dairy free and try to avoid certain cooking oils. It's such a hassle and I avoid eating out as it's embarrassing (I hate having to ask all sorts of questions and have my meal made custom- to leave out ingredients). Anyway, every time I have been here they have been super accommodating. The managers are superb and the staff is friendly. I tried a different location last time I was in the city and found that experience the same. I hope this place catches on and expands as I'd love to have it as an option in more locations.“

“I pay for the monthly Sip Club so I stopped by and got my free drink. I love that the store is in the Palladio so is pretty close to the freeway. The entrance is in a different place than you think. The best way to get there is to park in the parking garage and then walk to the main entrance at the path closest to Bradshaw. The staff is always friendly.“

“So last night I was on doordash looking for restaurants in Folsom that were open and sounded good. I don't actually use doordash other than for inspiration and to see pictures/reviews. I noticed that there was a calzone place that was supposedly close by to where I live. This was strange to me as I didn't know there was a calzone place. It turns out, the pizza guys sell calzones through doordash but there is nothing on the website or in the store, that I noticed, so I asked in person if I could order one directly from them. They said yes! Look on doordash for the different flavors, but I got the Santa Cruz, which was like a Hawaiian pizza calzone. It came out hot and it was SO delicious! They are hiding these from you, so go get you one! You just need to ask.“
