I have been going to Union Jack Fish and Chips for about 20 or 25 years now. The fish and chips are very good, even compared to some higher end places that make fish and chips. Now the cod filets are sort of long triangular shaped, which might make you think, 'processed filets'. BUT, they are not formed from different parts of the fish, they are cut that way from the solid white meaty part of the fish. They cook them to order, so when you get the bag it is piping hot! During the time I walked in there was beautiful weather outside ; wide open were the restaurant's doors to peep' the scene. I ordered the London special and enjoyed it! I was given a package of malt vinegar for the fish along with tartar sauce the cooks offer too. "Absolutely nothing wrong with that"Later, a friend told me the place probably has a chain of restaurants scattered across parts of the UK and other areas of the US. It's perfect for Fountain Valley.
