“Best boba in town! I really enjoyed the seafood noodles!“

“Yummy Taiwanese style sandwiches. I guess this style might not be for everyone but I really like the slight sweetness and how soft the bread is in Taiwanese breakfast sandwiches. I always get the signature which has ham egg and sausage. The cucumbers and mayo add a nice freshness. I also tried the taro pork floss sandwich which I enjoyed because I love taro. Definitely super nostalgic of when I go to Taiwan.“

“I didn't expect much coming here. I was pleasantly surprised - I had a ribeye with mushroom sauce, flavors were just right, nothing overbearing, no harsh spices to overcome poor quality meat, just a good flavorful Taiwanese steak. The soup of the day seemed unusual, chefs choice, sort of a mix of corn chowder and egg drop soup. Again, good subtle flavor combinations and surprisingly good. I'd recommend this as a good way to experience traditional Taiwanese food in the Bay Area.“

“The chichen meal is good. The desert and drinks are good too.
One of my family member is a vegetarian. The store can customize the meal for vegetarians.
The store managers are nice and experienced in doing business.
I buy food from Shihlin every week. It's now one of my favorites in Fremont.“

“Mr. Lau's Steak House (劉月鐵板.居酒屋) provides authentic Taiwanese-style steak meal, which left me feeling happy after eating it. The set meal includes black pepper rib eye steak (8 ounces, medium rare), lettuce salad, garlic bread, an egg, and spaghetti. The price is so inexpensive and the meal is so delicious. I definitely will be coming back again and again!“

“First time trying Old Taro today! I ordered their signature combo, which comes with a rice ball, taro chips, and a drink. Everything was nicely put together, and I really liked the variety in the set.

The rice ball was filling and flavorful, and the taro chips were a nice addition. It’s a fun option when you want something quick but a little different from the usual. Glad I finally gave this place a try, and I’d definitely come back to explore more of the menu!“

“I have visited this restaurant several times, and their soup dumplings are consistently delicious. We tried three varieties: pork, pork with crab meat, and loofah shrimp. Each steamer holds six dumplings with wonderfully thin wrappers, and the food came out really quickly.
What I liked is that the drunken chicken and three‑cup chicken are both boneless. The sweet‑and‑sour fish fillet tasted a bit unexpected though, as it was made with ketchup, different from what we had anticipated.“

“January 2026:
My family has been asking me to drop by this shop for about a month for Ba-wan (or Mah-wan). They are a large meat dumpling with a whitish-translucent skin, made from a rice flour. It is considered a popular Taiwanese street food and served with a red(-ish) sauce on top.
Pricing is 5.25 each + tax. Each meat dumpling is individually wrapped in plastic wrap, making it simple to purchase however many you want. It will come with a small tub of sauce, so the shop prefers that you purchase the dumplings in sets of 3 or 4. (I have no idea how sauce is presented to you if you order a single dumpling.)

Staff at the shop was pleasant enough. They let me take photos and answered my questions.

I paid cash. I didn't look to see if they take card or alternate payments. I don't think so?

Parking in this shopping center can be absolutely crazy during meal times. Crickets empty at 7pm sometimes. Best to bring a driver and a shopper where the driver just waits to pick up the shopper without needing to locate a parking spot. Takeout is probably best.

I will brave the parking lot to return when the family starts requesting meat dumplings again.“
