I buy food from Shihlin every week. It's now one of my favorites in Fremont.“

“I stopped by Cafe Mei in Fremont for a quick breakfast and tried their Signature Pork Sung Sandwich. Wow, what a treat! The sandwich was perfectly toasted, with a flavorful pork patty, fresh cucumber, and that sweet mayo that ties it all together. It felt like a true taste of Taiwan, just like the reviews mentioned. The staff was super friendly, and the vibe was cozy yet trendy. Only wish they had longer hours for us late risers! Highly recommend for anyone craving an authentic Taiwanese breakfast sandwich.“

“This place has quickly become my favorite place to go to. My favorites are the rib eye and New York steak with a mixed sauce. The meat is high quality, rib eye is juicy and tender and the New York has the special beef texture I am looking for. The side dishes are great and the portion is big. I also like the finger foods like fish cake tempura and popcorn chicken, highly recommend them with cold beer if you are over 21!“

“Mr. Lau's Steak House (劉月鐵板.居酒屋) provides authentic Taiwanese-style steak meal, which left me feeling happy after eating it. The set meal includes black pepper rib eye steak (8 ounces, medium rare), lettuce salad, garlic bread, an egg, and spaghetti. The price is so inexpensive and the meal is so delicious. I definitely will be coming back again and again!“

“This restaurant is a neighborhood family restaurant, in a location not depending on foot traffic. Despite its name, it offers an extensive Taiwan style menu besides dumplings. Service is friendly and efficient. It's menu items are reasonably priced, and good portions.“

“January 2026:
My family has been asking me to drop by this shop for about a month for Ba-wan (or Mah-wan). They are a large meat dumpling with a whitish-translucent skin, made from a rice flour. It is considered a popular Taiwanese street food and served with a red(-ish) sauce on top.
Pricing is 5.25 each + tax. Each meat dumpling is individually wrapped in plastic wrap, making it simple to purchase however many you want. It will come with a small tub of sauce, so the shop prefers that you purchase the dumplings in sets of 3 or 4. (I have no idea how sauce is presented to you if you order a single dumpling.)

Staff at the shop was pleasant enough. They let me take photos and answered my questions.

I paid cash. I didn't look to see if they take card or alternate payments. I don't think so?

Parking in this shopping center can be absolutely crazy during meal times. Crickets empty at 7pm sometimes. Best to bring a driver and a shopper where the driver just waits to pick up the shopper without needing to locate a parking spot. Takeout is probably best.

I will brave the parking lot to return when the family starts requesting meat dumplings again.“

“Chi Xiao Guo seems to be gone. Now it’s Liu Yue Teppanyaki Cuisine. They don’t sell hot pot in summer, but the Teppanyaki cuisine is also delicious. It’s very similar to the signature Teppanyaki Noodles at Taiwan’s night markets. Love! Definitely will come again : )“
