Chef Paul's Café offers some of the best food in Fresno, with brilliant, well-executed, very flavorful food. The fried chicken is off the hook, and the shrimp & grits are absolutely delicious. Other over the top options include the tri tip plate, ox tails, shrimp po' boy, burnt ends, meatloaf, smothered pork chops, and fresh fish. Must-try sides include the greens, potato salad, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, string beans, cabbage, greenbeans, mash and gravy, and yams. The banana pudding is a must try. The food is at a really good price for what you’re getting. The staff are all so kind despite a rush, and the atmosphere feels like going to a friend's house for lunch. Nothing fancy here, just good food and service. Chef Paul greets customers every time. Hours are short, so planning ahead is recommended.
