El Calentano | Mexican Restaurant & Mariscos is a nice Mexican restaurant with an impressive list of dishes including a few Salvadoran specialties. It is a mom 'n pop kind of place with very friendly, courteous, and attentive owners and staff. The authentic food offers excellent flavors. Dishes include authentic street tacos like el pastor and carne Asada, which were all fantastic. The menudo carried on a Wednesday had a unique flavor and was delicious. The Calentano plate, with carne asada, pollo, camarones, arroz, frijoles and ensalada verde, is very filling. Pork and cheese pupusas are good and delicious, served with curtido and that tomatoey red salsa. The horchata is mild sweet, flavorful and fresh. Other options include parrilladas, molcajetes, mariscos caldos, tostadas, cocteles, burgers, omelettes, and breakfast plates. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a small parking lot, and kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible amenities.
