This was the best trout I've ever had! The owner was so nice. He found out we were from Louisiana and he was telling us so great stories about his visits to New Orleans. The ambiance was perfect!
I came to Poppy for the first time with a friend visiting from out-of-town. We ordered the bread service with duck pate and salmon rillette to start with the trout and the clams and mussels with pancetta for our entrees. Everything was just outstanding in its depth of flavor and preparation, and our waiter was quite pleasant, attentive, and helpful in choosing a bottle plus 2 glasses of wine. The Tuesday night specials offer a terrific opportunity for a very good meal and experience. One miss but three home runs on our entrees. Still worth the short drive from the Sonoma town square.
