“Was in town for business and decided to have a little fun singing karaoke at Gary’s. The town of Grass Valley has me sucked in. I’m from KY and I thought we had nice people but Grass Valley and Gary’s had some of the most down to earth, friendly, yet fun people. The bartender was/is a metal drummer, and a great and attentive bartender too! Go to Gary’s. You won’t regret it“
“We went for a cocktail with friends who live in Nevada City, such a great spot!! Drinks were all crafted with care. The ambience is super cool and the service is excellent. I would be a regular if I lived here. Next time will plan to stay for the live music. Highly recommend!!“
“They've got great food, all cooked-to-order. So far, I've had their hot dogs, pizza, garlic fries, and a couple of other offerings. You can't go wrong. Though a bar first, I wouldn't (and haven't) hesitate(d) to drop in for dinner.Get there while there is still daylight, and you will be rewarded with an incredible view of the hills surrounding Colfax, and if you're lucky, a train snaking its way up (or down) the Sierras.The decor here is ultra-cool. Upon entry, you will understand why it is aptly named the Red Frog. But look a little closer.... everywhere. I have enjoyed this place several times throughout its years in existence. “I learned to play shuffleboard in your bar in the mid 90's, listening to Johnny Cash. When I lived there at that time, I bought a T-shirt from you with the name of the bar and a b/w sketch of a couple drinking champaigne while riding a horse at full speed.
