“I have driven by this La Michoacana ice cream shop on many occasions. I have always wondered what type of ice cream they sell. I am an ice cream lover so any ice cream can potentially be my friend LOL. Well, I took a leap and decided to stop on by and check them out. So happy that I did!When I first entered the shop, I felt like I walked into a candy shop, but it's not... it's an ice cream shop LOL. It's such a cute shop! Ambiance is very colorful and fun. Love the orange color interior. Very spacious. Many ice cream flavors... some common flavors and some unique ones, too. They have 4 different cup sizes and waffle cones. Ice cream bars (water or milk based) are available, too. They also have different drink options like mangonado, aguas frescas, frescas con creama, raspados, etc.I got a chance to taste test some ice cream flavors before making my final selections. Just ask for free samples. They are very receptive to it. I ended up with 3 doubles; one with gansitos + oreo, another one with queso + oreo, and last one with coffee + oreo. Scoops were huge! Go for double or larger for best value! As you can see, oreo was a favorite and it is a must get... very creamy and just delicious. I'm not a regular oreo fan, but I am now with this oreo. All other flavors I got were very good, too... something about the cream used in the ice cream that stands out compared to American ice cream. I am now a fan of La Michoacana!The owner is very friendly and nice. She answered all my questions. Thank you so much Shirley for your warm welcome and exceptional service! Prices are very reasonable. Just a wonderful ice cream experience all around! I found out that not all La Michoacana are the same. They are mainly independently owned. I came back here the next day to get their Mangonada (very good!), Frescas con Creamas (quite creamy, but strawberries were not sweet so they didn't compliment the drink), Double with gansitos and walnut (nice nutty flavor!), and 3 ice cream bars (queso, walnut, pinion (I like it!)). “Menchies's set itself apart from their competitivers by offering ingredients that were made in-house by Menchie's. Waffle cones are made fresh at the store. There is an immediate difference in quality; the yogurt texture is vastly creamier, and consistency is noticeable. All of the additional "fixins" are clearly labeled and accessible. The store is very clean and airy. The staff are both friendly and accommodating. This store offers a military veteran discount. Join their birthday club. “First time coming to this La Michoacana & first thing I have to say is "what a great place to come & enjoy some dessert". The atmosphere feels nice. Good service, I was greeted by a nice worker named Alejandra who took my order. I got a banana split & it was very delicious. Definitely will be coming here more often.“
“Place was clean and all the toppings were full and not cross contaminated with each other. Girls working were nice. Got my favorite, plain tart and tried the mango tart which was super good. Haven't been to one of these in years, definitely expensive. $13 for a medium I think, wasn't the big one. Super good though as usual.“
