“This was the perfect place to end our day in Julian! I had a glass of red wine but I tried the cider and both were delicious, easy drinking. The bartender was very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed with great indoor and outdoor seating.”

“I stopped in mid afternoon. This is kind of an antique mall with wine bars, a mead place and a card cider place. I had a flight of the meads. It was great talking to the owner. He's very good at teaching you if you are new to mead.”

“2 miles out of downtown Julian on CA-79 is a gem of a family owned food stop. Our 10am brunch of savory homemade gravy over country busicuits, as well as our shared ham, egg, and cheese on an onions bagel, was extremely scrumptious, to say the least. Open until 4 pm, please stop by and enjoy the Julian Pit Stop. The owners personal attention assures a wonderful dine in or take out experience. Photos posted by other reviewers are up to date, the store ambience is so pleasing.”

“Purple owl is my families favorite cafe in Julian! They have fantastic coffee, some great grab and go items like parfaits and pastries, and BEST salads, tartines and crepes. So fresh and yummy.”

“Just enjoyed their mushroom tacos today. Amazing and look forward to returning for their jackfruit offerings. Nice patio seating in quaint Julian and parking was easy as it’s located near end of town. Will definitely make the drive from Temecula for great afternoon.”

“This place was an absolute pleasure. I went with my family for my 31st birthday. As we got to Julian, we went walking and stumbled upon this place. We both love Italian food, so it was a no-brainer to go there. We went inside and you could tell it was a home which made the atmosphere even better. We were helped by a friendly young chap whose grandpa founded the place I believe. Anyways he recommended the special which was bread crusted veal with pickled cabbage and other veggies. And omfg he wasn't lying when he said the flavor would be held within the crust cus damn good entree! And my lady got the pesto pasta and Cesar salad. And by far this was the best Cesar we ever had tbh!!!
And to make it even better we informed him of my bday and without expectation he surprised us with canoli, which we both have never had and oh God, it was so gooooood. We will be back when we stumble upon Julian once more!”
