“Stefan at UCSD Catering was extremely helpful when my fiancée and I began planning our wedding at the Martin Johnson House on the Scripps Campus.Of the approved caterers, Stefan was one of few to immediately have a detailed conversation with me about the ins and outs of the venue, what potential options and setups could be, and how to compare pricing/offerings from different caterers.When we built a menu and proposal, communication was prompt and efficient. We were able to try different set up options, mix and match from the existing menu and modify plates to fit with what we were going for.Pricing on the menu was labeled per person, so it was super easy and transparent to see what the costs would be if we added or removed items. The proposal was also very clear on food cost, vs. staff cost, vs other fees.Compared to other vendors, UCSD's proposal looked like the best quality to price combo.Ultimately, we did not go with UCSD catering only because we were on a tight timeline and felt more comfortable going with an all-in-one catering solution.However, if you have the time (or a coordinator) I'd recommend the combo of UCSD Catering, Bella Beverage Catering, and Cedar and Pine Rentals.“

“They truly did provide us with the best day of our lives! We chose Abbey Catering from a list provided to us by our venue, and man it turned out to be one of the best decision we ever made.

They provided so much guidance and the food tasting night hosted by them is a great fun time that really helped with deciding on a menu. When it came to the day of, I swear the food was even better than when we tasted it!

“My wife and I worked with Four Seasons for our Wedding at the Thursday Club. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We got to sample all our preferred main courses, the salad, and an appetizer.

Sierra and Billy were incredibly transparent throughout the contract process and helped us select services and options which were exactly what we wanted within our budget. She was quick to help us make changes throughout the run up to the wedding.

On the day of the event, they were flawless. The bar service had signature cocktails ready for our guests as soon as cocktail hour started and the guest all had rave reviews about the bar. The food was phenomenal - everyone was thrilled with the fish taco appetizer. I had the salmon and pasta vegetal, both were excellent.

From our tasting to the wedding day, Ashley was incredibly communicative, accommodating, and so easy to work with. She answered every random question we had and happily accommodated our gluten-free dairy-free and vegetarian guests.

Dinner was prompt, the staff was incredibly attentive throughout the evening and there was plenty of food to go around. A special shoutout to Chef Madison. The braised short ribs were the unanimous favorite! Our guests were raving about how delicious they were.
