“I experienced this food truck while I was at the Belching Beaver Brewery in Oceanside. The food was excellent. The wait time was reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. I tried the Jalapeno Chipotle Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich and it was EXCELLENT. Great reviews from my family on the Bacon and original sandwiches as well as the lobster Mac and cheese.... Madison was always responsive to any questions I had while I was interviewing different caterers. Very thorough and always had all of the answers.The flavor chef menu is full of great options and has tons of delicious appetizers. Our guest enjoyed the poke chips, lamb lollipops and caprese salad on crostini as appetizers. Salmon, steak and chicken as entrees. The food was a total hit. 100% of our guests told me how much they enjoyed the food.The staff at our event included Derek as chef, Yannick as bartender and Joey and Ken as servers. “The food is top notch. They obviously use the freshest ingredients and they allow those ingredients to shine. We had the spinach, mushroom and artichoke omelete. So good! But, we also had to have the stuffed french toast. It was wonderful. Couldn't stop raving about it to everyone. The service was very good. The waitstaff was knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful. We asked for minor alterations such as no powdered sugar and cheese on the side. That is exactly how we got our dishes. Kudos to the chef. We've requested the same at other restaurants only to have our requests ignored. This is definitely a new go-to place for us!“

“We used Chef Ty's services for our corporate Christmas dinner party of 2023. He came to our home with two staff members. From the first phone call, Chef Ty was a pleasure to speak and work with. We spoke several times before the event and he went above and beyond to satisfy all of our event needs. He was on time, the food was served hot and delicious, and he left our kitchen as clean as he found it. THE FOOD - We had four passed around small bites during cocktail hour. It was all absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend the apple and blue-cheese turnovers! I think about them often. The Lamb lollipop was crazy good. The shrimp appetizer was great as well as the mushroom one. Dinner courses were presented so elegantly and tasted as good as they looked. We began with a fabulous pumpkin soup. It was honestly the best pumpkin soup I've ever had. That was followed by a tasty root vegetable salad. We then had Filet Minon over risotto with a demi glaze sauce over it. Wow! It was truly spectacular. I HIGHLY recommend Chef Ty for any special intimate dining experience you are thinking about. Our party was of twenty three people. “If you are a bride deciding whether to hire Coast Catering and Crown Rentals for your wedding, stop scrolling book right now!We were new to the San Diego area when we got engaged, which meant we had no local knowledge of best vendors or caterers. Our wedding planners immediately recommended Coast Catering as the best in the business, and having now worked with them I can confirm they are incredible. Not only is the food amazing, but they are some of the kindest people to work with and the service they provide day of is beyond perfect.Our first introduction to Coast was at our tasting. The tasting was fun and the food was delicious. We so enjoyed meeting the incredible chef Barry Layne and Chelsea, the Director of Sales who worked with us throughout the wedding planning process. Barry and Chelsea were so kind and thoughtful with us during the whole tasting, answering our questions, letting us try multiple dishes and appetizers, and explaining to us how the process would work during the next year plus that we were planning our wedding. The hardest part of the tasting was deciding among the many delicious options.As I'm sure many couples can relate to, we have gone to a LOT of weddings during the last few years, and we understand from friends that even the best tasting is not always an indication of how the food will taste day of, when cooked for 150+ guests. Let me be clear: if anything, our food from Coast Catering was even BETTER on the day of the wedding than it was at the tasting, if that's possible. We picked the filet, petaluma chicken, and gnocci for our main dishes, and it was all incredible. We also can't speak highly enough about the arugula salad, which I wish we could eat every day of my life! And the other stars of the show were our passed appetizers: the tuna tacos, sliders, and mac and cheese bites. I could go on and on but to sum it up: it was all incredible, and I'm hoping to get invited to another Coast-catered event soon to eat it all again. A friend messaged us the day after the wedding and said: "I talk a lot about how nobody remembers food from weddings, but this may be an outlier for me."The only thing that was better than the food itself was Coast's service, which was spectacular. Our wedding planners advised us that a major reason to book with Coast is because they ensure the timing of everything is pristine, but I did not know how true that was with Coast until the day of our wedding. Flow is so important to ensuring your day goes smoothly, and Coast crushed it out of the park for us. The servers were so kind and served meals in sync, a small and wonderful touch that so many of our guests commented on and appreciated. I wouldn't change a thing about our day, and a lot of that is thanks to Coast's excellent execution of the food and service.And finally (I could go on and on, as you can see), what I appreciated so much was Chelsea's and Coast's attention to my husband and I the day of the wedding. We had appetizers delivered to us by a server at the very start of cocktail hour-- after hearing from tons of friends that at their own weddings, they never got to try the passed apps. We even had EXTRA apps delivered to us during dinner, which we happily gobbled down as we took a moment to spend time together at the sweetheart table, admiring our big day having come together. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful to us, which I will always remember.Just trust me: book Coast Catering (and Crown Rentals) for your wedding. “I had a fairly good lunch at Berta's and Osuna's Nicaraguan and Latin American food truck. I ordered the combination platter which included pork chunks, sweet fried plantains, fried cheese, and rice and beans. Good large portions most of which was excellent but the pork was a little too dry and hard. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I thought the food was pricey for a food truck but was good and plentiful. I don't know how you find their current location as they serve at different locations and their posted address is their business (not Food Truck) address.“
