“Tried & true. Quick, clean & consistent. I love the quirkiness of the owner John & love that it is family owned & operated. Ingredients are always fresh and seem to be a higher quality than Subway. I recommend the Natural #6 on squaw & the tortilla soup on Wed & Thurs is super yummy! All the soups are homemade and great. It can get crowded so you might want to call ahead and they can have it ready for you when you get there. Worth a try!“

“Fast and friendly service. Ordered a Combo with the Turkey Club and a Green Smoothie. Everything was made fresh. The sandwich had the perfect amount of ingredients, and they didn't overdo the garlic aioli.This is my second time here, and both times have been very good.This is a mom & pop shop, but the food is good. They only offer take-out, but it's good for a grab and go meal. I would highly recommend.

“Im here visiting.... found this place because I was working late and it was one of a handful of places still open @ 12:30 am. The pastrami dip is excellent! I've been here 3 or 4 times total... every time the sandwich and the fries were hot and fresh!!! Customer service is awesome, too!“

“CJ Deli is a local treasure. Friendly service and delicious food for breakfast or lunch! You can dine in or order to-go. I've been coming here for a while, and I'm satisfied with everything I've ordered.

The menu has an excellent variety of options for breakfast and lunch: cold and hot sandwiches, salads, soups, and even teriyaki plates! A few of my recent lunch favorites and go-tos are the chicken salad sandwich, meatball sandwich, and many of the special sandwiches. All the ingredients and bread are fresh, and the sandwiches are well made. For an additional cost, you can make your orders a combo with a drink and chips.

Prices are fair and worth supporting this local spot. Lunchtime is the busiest (as with many places), but I have been able to place and receive my food quickly. The dining area has a few tables, and it is comfortable if there aren't too many diners. They also offer free delivery and catering for orders worth $30 or more.

Parking is available in the small lot in front. If the front lot is full, there is also an entrance behind the plaza, where you'll find more parking. Support local!

“I had passed this place multiple times and decided to give it a try today. So happy that I did! Meatball sub was the special of the day (whaaaat?!) and their meatball sub outclassed many "italian" restaurant meatball subs. I'm intrigued by the Chicago so that will be my next “

“This is a quaint neighborhood sandwich shop in the area where I was visiting. The shop is simple; the sandwiches are generous. Service was prompt of straight to the point. I ordered the chicken Waldorf. Nice fresh bread with general portion of chicken salad.

“Celiac friendly. I'm very cautious of where I order for my son. This place has been by far the best. I went in today for a GF sub for a celiac and they did an amazing job at not only making sure it was safe to prepare the sub but also used ingredients from the back to avoid cross contamination. Super grateful to the staff who helped us today and knew what Celiac was. Thanks again you guys!

“My friend Ale and I were on Thursday, July 27 at JOE'S GURMET SANDWICHES. The quality of the ingredients that make up the food prepared in these sandwiches are the most delicious. It was a pleasure to enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients in each bite. We were there for a long time waiting for a phone call after eating, The number of customers who came to consume the delicious food, only confirmed to me how successful this place . My friend and I were able to observe how excitedly some customers gave hugs and affection to Mr. Joe during their visit there. That is another sign clients feel at home like family, just how we felt. Mr Joe and Amanda, thank you very much for being so warm to us, professional, kind and making us feel safe in your place. “Although Subway makes their own bread, I think JM has them beat. Not just because they slice ham, so what. We aren’t in the south of Spain, it’s deli ham but good. I’m a big guy and although I could destroy a regular size, do the mini. It gets cut in half and it’ll save some dollars. Also the rosemary bread is a yummy addition to a regular sandwich. Although the Italian white is just fine. Good nice service, good food, nice patio for outdoor seating on a beat west coast day.“

“Last time I was here, my sandwich was made perfectly and cut in half, just the way I like it. This time seems like somebody was in a hurry. The filling didn't go all the way to the ends of the bread and it wasn't cut in half and not as much chicken. It was still delicious though and of course I'll be back!“

“This review is long overdue. I have been living in Downey for the majority of my life and I always pass by the plaza where this shop is located but I only found out about it through someone. Best bagels & coffee in town. They are always working hard! I’d rather support this small business than a franchise. I love the dalgona & viatnemese iced coffee & I also love how they added specialty donuts. The nutella strawberry is my favorite.try the lox bagel when you can !! It surprised me.Also they recently added a kiosk to place your own order which I think is an excellent & efficient addition because it does get packed sometimes. Won’t stop coming here!“

“We go JJ for their bread (softer compared to Panera bread and taste like bread compared to subway ?). The only downside to JJ is the choice of meat and the ingredients are very limited. Small place and behind US Bank often ppl miss this spot. Decent parking lot.

“I remember getting some pretty good bánh mì to take on a flight several years ago, but didn’t know from which establishment. I came here today and it felt very familiar. I’m pretty certain this was the place.

We took advantage of the buy 2 get 1 free deal for the round bread bánh mì. We had the Saigon special, grilled pork and grilled beef. We actually asked for the meatball bánh mì, but they got our order wrong and gave us the grilled beef instead, which we didn’t realise until we got home. However, the sandwiches were still tasty; the meat was well seasoned and the bread had enough bite without being tough.

“BLT was excellent at this location. This is the only jersey mikes that charged me for cheese, like $2.50 for 3 thin slices of swiss. I have been to many jersey mikes and haven't come across an up charge for cheese. The service was great. I see a high chair for little kids here at this location and a handicap ♿️ table. I also see they got an "A" on their health inspection.
