“Family owned Indian cuisine restaurant near laguna beach, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service and ambiance, prompting me to disregard any negative reviews and fully immerse myself in the experience, first time trying it and I give it a 10/10.Get the garlic nan ?“
“Visited with in laws during our trip to socal this Easter break. I thought it was at the Irvine spectrum but it was closer to the industrial center and thus, easier parking (although may hard to find at first). I can tell this place is hectic during the business day lunch break. Order at the counter then wait for your food; ours was not a long wait on a Saturday at 4pm. Many options. Many many many! So take your time and be adventurous but always, always get the mint chuntney. Flavors will rock your socks off. I think this business model would lend itself to fast expansion like Cava or Chipotle so I wish all the best to the staff and ownership. Very approachable, easy to enjoy Indian food (albeit not maybe 100% authentic, but it’s still very satisfying)“
“A definite must try! Great food and easy to work with as they catered my wedding. Food was fresh and tasty. Great feedback from all my family and friends. Will for sure be going back to eat at the restaurant. Owners are very accommodating and will work with you to make your ideal menu for catering.“
“I'm not an Indian expert, but I can say for certain that nothing I've had here was disappointing at allThe butter chicken is especially good on Rice scooped up with a big piece of NaanKid-friendliness: They are so incredibly friendly with our boys every time we eat there - truly a welcoming atmosphere“
“Food is absolutely delicious! We love doing take out or dine in. Service is speedy. Ambiance leaves something to be desired but all the food is so darn good that it doesn't matter. Appetizer sampler is a must if you aren't sure what to try. Lentil soup is tasty too. We usually stick to chicken dishes but if you like lamb we've tried those too. Love the cashew paneer since you can't always get it. Garlic naan is also to die for and you get a lot with one order. Everyone should have Himalayan Taste in their rotation!“
“This is the best Indian food I e had in a long time. Being in the military, I’ve gotten to try many variations of Indian Food. But this restaurant provides a unique taste that still give the presentation and flavor of traditional cuisine! Take the whole family.“
“You know that type of family that you dread coming to visit you but you have to be nice to them because they only visit once every few years? Yeah... I made the mistake of bringing a family member here yesterday. She was so rude to the waiter. The waiter was wonderful, answered all of our questions, helped with recommendations, and checked up on us often. And even when the family member in question was rude to the waiter and kept trying to show him pictures of a restaurant she visited overseas on her phone. The waiter very politely viewed her photos and described the dishes she had eaten. The waiter was very professional! The food was amazing and it was a good amount of food for the price. They have vegetarian options and meat options for us carnivores. The restaurant was empty since this restaurant is hidden from street view but it is worth the trip. I know I will be ordering from here more often and leaving that rude family member at home. Thank you to the cooks and the staff at this restaurant! You are all amazing! Great food, quiet environment, and professional staff. The dessert was also very tasty! Fresh mango and vanilla pudding. Delicious! They also have take-out and a huge menu to choose from. Don't skip out on this place! Leave the mean family members at home and eat here.“
“Great food and reasonable prices! Lunch buffet was $16.95 when I went today on a Saturday. Buffet included standard Indian lunch buffet options that were very tasty. Lots of really good vegetarian options! Most were not spicy, but the ones that are spicy are not labeled so be sure to ask about spice levels if you can't tolerate spice. Their rice pudding was very "watery" at first glance, but it turns out they just use a lot of milk/cream instead of water (plus a lot of other things like cashrews and raisins!), so it was actually very delicious. Waitstaff were very nice. Their dinner entrees are good too, and reasonably priced. Some of their entrees look small at first since since they serve them in bowls, but it's actually deep bowl containing a sizable portion. The only "problem" is finding the restaurant is somewhat hard since it's tucked away behind two shopping plazas, so it's easy to miss.“
“I didn't expect to find Indian food here at Ritz. I asked staff for nice quiet spot where I could eat and work. It turned out to be an elegant spot with superb food. The menu offers both gringo Indian and authentic. Choose the authentic at the bottom of the menu. Superb!!!“
“Incredible, fresh, and flavorful Indian cuisine! You can taste the quality and the care that goes into preparing these dishes. Had a lovely dinner here with my mom and had a wonderful time at this place. Even the dishes the food was served were beautiful. The service was fabulous and friendly. Do yourself a favor and try it for yourself - especially the carrot pudding - you’re welcome!“
“Did I just land in Mumbai? Basanti is as real as it gets. My local hangout and could eat here everyday - sometimes hitting this place up 3-4x per week (I’m not the only one - the number of Uber Eats guys who show up at dinner time is insane and at times, I’m the odd one out in a restaurant full of Mubaians). This place holds it own in a smaller community with no shortage of restaurants and located on the other side of the railroad tracks, literally, where many tourists venture/land given the train station and location of Mission SanJuan. Everything cooked to order (love that I can hang with the locals - authentic staff - and handle the same, if not more spice then they especially for a white chick from the Midwest) including no spice for little people, like my twin grandkids who devour the buttered naan and tandoori chick. The owner, first generation (I think) and the nicest most humble guy (he recognized me at another San Juan hangout then bought my glass of wine) just wants you to have the most pleasurable dining experience enjoying cuisine he’s passionate about. My favs: buttered naan, roasted beet salad, lentil soup, and chicken korma, extra spice. The world’s a big place so get out there…or at least venture to the other side of the train tracks or even stay home (#ubereats) and reap the same benefits of good food and good company!“
“The goat Bryanni was the best Bryanni in my life I highly recommend it ! It's very authentic homemade taste and not greasy and it doesn't make you sleepy afterwards. very very very very goooood!!!!! I will be back again for sure ((:“
“Hands-down the best Indian/Nepalese food I've been able to find in OC! I often get take-out from here. Every dish I've tried has been fantastic. Amar and the staff there are so friendly and kind. Always a joy to interact with them! The Kashmiri cherry almond Naan is heaven...I've never had anything like it before!I will be back for the rest of my life.Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian and there are so many fantastic options! I've still yet to try all of them!“
“Went here on the 4th of July weekend for lunch. The service was quick maybe because the restaurant was pretty empty. We ordered a couple of curries, roti, naan and mango lassi. Mango lassi was the best I would say. The paneer makhni was too tangy and tasted tomato all over. Dal tadka was slightly watery and could be thicker.Good place for a quick bite. Would definitely try again to give them another chance.“
“The food was delicious! I took my entire family to try the different kinds of biryanis and everyone loved the flavor, aroma and taste of them. It can be a little spicy for folks who don't eat it and the staff here are really considerate of that. This place is a must visit for anyone who likes biryani.“
“Delicious food and excellent service! The staff was super helpful and really took a lot of pride in their work and really helped us with the food choices. The wine in Indian restaurants is usually not up to par but not this place. All in all, wonderful place with good ambiance. Would go back again!!“
“The food was so delicious and the environment was welcoming but what made it even more special were the two servers that were working on Tuesday April 9th 2024. It was the last day of Ramadan and my family and I came here for dinner to break our last fast of the month. The two servers were exceptional with their friendly and kind service. The owner is lucky to have such great workers. I never got the chance to get their names but I do know one of them is from Nepal. They really made us feel special and it made our meal taste so much better. Thank you for the best service you could ask for at an Indian restaurant all thanks to the two servers who went out of their way to make it special for us. Natraj is lucky to have you both on their team.“
“I have been going to this exotic restaurant for some time now. They always serve great Indian food.I enjoy the the Tandoori chicken and chicken Masala and Beef Curry and the Wraps are great option for lunch. The owner is very nice and friendly guy and he will take care of you .I recommend this place for great Indian food . you will enjoy the food and experience“
“Despite its fast-casual setup, this is one of my favourite places to order Indian food. The chicken biryani is delicious with fragrant basmati rice and juicy chicken chunks. I also like the bite-sized and large versions of the crunchy samosas. I'm a huge fan of street food, and Curry Up Now does it best.“
“Great first impression. Tasting sauce of the spice level was great but then when I got my food, no sauce at all was ever put in my meal. But then when I got home and ate the food I was very surprised how great it all was! Very impressed after the whole sauce thing. I will definitely be going back for more!“
“NOTE: I've been dining at this local take-out location at least 5 times a year, for over 8 years. Also, the grocery section has a lot of imported items that is not easy to find elsewhere. This review is long-overdue. :-) Food: consistently good. It's as good as it's going to get in So.OC. The food offerings are fairly priced, considering the rising prices of groceries and operation cost of restaurant throughout the nation. I'm glad this take-out/grocery store was not affected by the pandemic; they remained opened and kept on going. Service: take-out staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The turn-around time from ordering to ready is pretty quick. Grocery area staff are always ready to help with questions you may have about their products. Ambience: Take out area have some dine-in tables and chairs. It can get crowded during the weekends, especially during popular dining hours. The grocery store have narrow aisle with LOTS of shelves, stuffed with mostly imported good, which is awesome. Overall: I will continue to come to Nina's for my convenient So.OC Indian food take-out and grocery needs.“
“This is a hidden restaurant of authentic Indian curries and I'm sure it guarantees the most quality and flavor in the area. I had chicken marquee and vandalu combo number four and I feel healthy! If you're in Irvine, make sure you visit this place!!“
