“I found Taste of Home Cakes and cup cakes by pure chance. I was looking for a very specific cake to compliment my sister's baby shower theme. She was having a Frieda Kahlua baby theme. Armen was professional and extremely helpful. The cake was not only stunning but moist and delicious. All of our guest could not stop raving about the cake. I have found a favorite bakery for every special occasion and can not recommend them enough!“

“The cookies are hit or miss most of the time. However, the staff here is always ( well almost) so friendly and kind. I don’t visit as much as I’d like because it’s cost prohibitive. And well id most likely gain too much weight if I enjoyed these more often.“

“IN LOVE with the food they make here. I've tried their dinner rolls, sandwich bread, croissants, and cookies. They are all delicious and fairly priced!
Favorites so far; Rosemary olive oil sandwich bread, garlic parm dinner rolls, ANY of their stuffed croissants, and I'm obsessed with their triple chocolate cookies (not overwhelming and perfectly crunchy).
This place is Cash Only with some rotating stock, so it's worth checking in every week. I plan to remain a regular.“

“Hit up the New Nutmeg on Danielson Street in Poway. I heard their Scripps location closed because the landlord raised the rent so high it was unaffordable for them to stay there. We were a large group so we were able to order a bunch of menu items. There was a line but its a very popular place so we were not surprised. We started with some espresso drinks, and agua frescas. We had the Hearty Bowl, Avocado Toast, and Amazing Burrito. Some in our group had the new Grandpa's Breakfast Bun with the egg and spam, and the Porky. They are very flexible with special orders including one in our group who is gluten sensitive. We finished, sharing their in-house baked pastries (they have gluten-free pastries); the warmed espresso scones and cinnamon buns (don't ever leave without having the "buns"). I work in the area so Nutmeg is now my go-to for breakfast before work, or lunch. Its also located nearby Costco and Home Depot, convenient for a weekend meal before or after my weekly Costco runs.“

“We came here for the Baklava and Turkish delight. The honey Baklava was easily my favorite as it has a less harsh sweetness than the other kinds I tried. They were still amazing but the honey one just stood above the rest.
We also got a few kinds of Turkish delight the star definitely being the small rose ones that had wonderfully delicate rose flavor that avoided the pitfall of tasting like perfume.
For drinks we had the Pistachio late which sublime, perfectly roasted coffee and pistachio flavor. Also tried Mina's signature drink that was a rice pudding late with hazelnut flavor, it was very reminiscent of an horchata with different spices. I greatly enjoyed it.“

“Dream Fountain is the place to go for all your desserts and catering needs. Martin and Ivan do an amazing job on their work, and their cakes are very detailed. For my sons baptism cake, it was done at Dream Fountain. It was so detailed and was very good. My wife and I couldn't have imaged the cake any better then this! They never disappoint!! “I contacted The Cupcake Store for a special order and they were so willingly to accommodate me. They were absolutely fantastic. My son who has been all over the world tasting different desserts said these were some of the best cupcakes he had ever tasted. “Christy's donuts in El Cajon has the best donuts. They don't have a shiny new store like that other place in Santee, but they have better tasting donuts the owner and his family run the shop and they are so very nice.

Instead of cakes, we've started treating ourselves to Christy's donuts.
