“Hit up the New Nutmeg on Danielson Street in Poway. I heard their Scripps location closed because the landlord raised the rent so high it was unaffordable for them to stay there. We were a large group so we were able to order a bunch of menu items. There was a line but its a very popular place so we were not surprised. We started with some espresso drinks, and agua frescas. We had the Hearty Bowl, Avocado Toast, and Amazing Burrito. Some in our group had the new Grandpa's Breakfast Bun with the egg and spam, and the Porky. They are very flexible with special orders including one in our group who is gluten sensitive. We finished, sharing their in-house baked pastries (they have gluten-free pastries); the warmed espresso scones and cinnamon buns (don't ever leave without having the "buns"). I work in the area so Nutmeg is now my go-to for breakfast before work, or lunch. Its also located nearby Costco and Home Depot, convenient for a weekend meal before or after my weekly Costco runs.“

The best part: the parking lot is so large and easily accessible! Employees were very kind, the store is well stocked and clean, and what's not to love about TJ's products?!“

“I love the pastries here! I have been coming here for years. On this visit I purchased two fruit tortes for a pot luck. I chose the peach torte and the Alpine Torte. Both were very delicous! They were fresh, tart, sweet, and a bit crunchy (with the crumble at the top). It's everything you want in a torte, or a pie. The customer experience when I picked them up was excellent as well. Sophia helped me on this visit. She was very helpful and answered questions that helped me make a choice. Thank you! If you want the best quality pastries in San Diego, you can't go wrong with Edelweiss. Eat up!!!“

“We were spending the weekend in San Diego for my wife’s birthday and I contacted Elite baking to make a cake and deliver it to the hotel. They were extremely easy to work with and communication was great. They delivered the cake to the hotel we were staying at prior to our arrival and were very accommodating. The best part, the cake looked amazing and tasted even better. I would definitely order from them again and recommend to anyone.“

“The mochi is so soft and yummy. We tried the mango, strawberry, red bean, and cookies and cream. Best to eat the mochis on the same day while soft. We also bought the salted caramel mini cake and the white cake with strawberries which were good and not too sweet. But I definitely preferred the mochi over the cakes.“

“Our family absolutely loved The Macaron Shop SD! These are without a doubt the best macarons we’ve ever had—fresh, beautifully made, and packed with incredible flavor. Every single one was delicious.

“Tasty Bakery absolutely delivers. The pork buns stole the show, stuffed with juicy pork, sweet onion, and egg with that perfect ratio of filling to fluffy bread. So much flavor in every bite. The coconut buns were just as incredible: soft, fragrant, and dangerously easy to finish in one go. You can feel the care in everything they bake. I'm already planning my next visit to work through their pastries and cakes, this spot is a gem.“

“Desserts and drinks all look really beautiful. I've tried a few of their pastries and drinks, and they're unique which helps them stand out. The teas were okay, syrups were a bit strong. Pastries were good buy maybe for someone else. They were just overly sweet we weren't able to enjoy the flavors. Had to wash it down every bite with water. That's really a preference, but just in case someone out there doesn't like super sweet desserts like us. Service was 10/10.“

“The best quality donuts in Scripps Ranch. Conveniently located next to the car wash. Parking is very limited. Great selection of sweets, coffees and tasty sandwiches. Get yourself a dozen in a box! Don't forget the napkins. Highly recommended.“

“Like a few others here, I am a native New Yorker with a love for authentic and delicious rugulach with proper and freash ingredients.Chewy's rugulach is the best there is here on the west coast.I pick up the chocolate rugulach at the cookie bar at Whole Foods Market in El Segundo, and you should too! Just the most delicious snack one could ask for. Love the raspberry (not usually a Raspberry fan of anything) and the apricot as well!“

“Hidden gem. I'm not sure why this filipino bakery has so little reviews as the bakery buns are so good (way better than 85 Bakery down the street) and only $1 per bun right now. The pan de coco (Bakery bun with coconut flakes inside) is so good. It is located inside the Vinh Hung Supermarket, just inside the left hallway after you enter from the main entrance. Cash is recommended but I believe they also take card. One of the best filipino bakeries I've been to in the US.“

“Fantastic coffee spot with an amazing experience overall! I tried the White Tiramisu, and it honestly tasted heavenly — rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious. My husband had the espresso, and he loved it as well; perfectly made and full of flavor.
The service was excellent — the staff were patient, friendly, and welcoming even during busy hours. There was a bit of a wait to place the order, but it was completely worth it.
