“Hit up the New Nutmeg on Danielson Street in Poway. I heard their Scripps location closed because the landlord raised the rent so high it was unaffordable for them to stay there. We were a large group so we were able to order a bunch of menu items. There was a line but its a very popular place so we were not surprised. We started with some espresso drinks, and agua frescas. We had the Hearty Bowl, Avocado Toast, and Amazing Burrito. Some in our group had the new Grandpa's Breakfast Bun with the egg and spam, and the Porky. They are very flexible with special orders including one in our group who is gluten sensitive. We finished, sharing their in-house baked pastries (they have gluten-free pastries); the warmed espresso scones and cinnamon buns (don't ever leave without having the "buns"). I work in the area so Nutmeg is now my go-to for breakfast before work, or lunch. Its also located nearby Costco and Home Depot, convenient for a weekend meal before or after my weekly Costco runs.“

“I love the pastries here! I have been coming here for years. On this visit I purchased two fruit tortes for a pot luck. I chose the peach torte and the Alpine Torte. Both were very delicous! They were fresh, tart, sweet, and a bit crunchy (with the crumble at the top). It's everything you want in a torte, or a pie. The customer experience when I picked them up was excellent as well. Sophia helped me on this visit. She was very helpful and answered questions that helped me make a choice. Thank you! “I found Elite Baking through a google search and I am so glad I did!! They were able to make me 25 cupcakes (3 different flavors) with customized colors on the frosting when placing my order the day before I needed them. They were for my son's high school graduation / going to college party and they were a huge success! We ordered Vanilla, Red Velvet, and Strawberry. All were delicious and next time I will be more adventurous and order some of the more unique flavors. Everyone loved the taste of all of the flavors and how beautiful they looked! I added the little college / star toppers. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again. Thank you soooooo very much. “I never had ube Japanese cheesecake before. It is light and fluffy like sponge cake. I think it would be better with cream and fruits on top. The matcha cheese tart and black sesame tastes more like a traditional cheesecake. It was more on the sweeter side but so yummy. The basque cheesecake was delicious and more creamy.“

“Tasty Bakery absolutely delivers. The pork buns stole the show, stuffed with juicy pork, sweet onion, and egg with that perfect ratio of filling to fluffy bread. So much flavor in every bite. The coconut buns were just as incredible: soft, fragrant, and dangerously easy to finish in one go. You can feel the care in everything they bake. I'm already planning my next visit to work through their pastries and cakes, this spot is a gem.“

Pastries were good buy maybe for someone else. They were just overly sweet we weren't able to enjoy the flavors. Had to wash it down every bite with water. That's really a preference, but just in case someone out there doesn't like super sweet desserts like us. Service was 10/10.“

“Like a few others here, I am a native New Yorker with a love for authentic and delicious rugulach with proper and freash ingredients.Chewy's rugulach is the best there is here on the west coast.I pick up the chocolate rugulach at the cookie bar at Whole Foods Market in El Segundo, and you should too! Just the most delicious snack one could ask for. Love the raspberry (not usually a Raspberry fan of anything) and the apricot as well!“

“Hands down the best sugar free keto bread I’ve ever tried! I got the St. James Spanish Cake for $12 at the Little Italy farmers market. It had the right amount of sweetness from the oranges and the bread was moist and soft making it the perfect combination for my morning coffee. I just got it Saturday and it is now Monday, practically gone. Time to ration for the rest of the week haha

“Hidden gem. I'm not sure why this filipino bakery has so little reviews as the bakery buns are so good (way better than 85 Bakery down the street) and only $1 per bun right now. The pan de coco (Bakery bun with coconut flakes inside) is so good. It is located inside the Vinh Hung Supermarket, just inside the left hallway after you enter from the main entrance. Cash is recommended but I believe they also take card. One of the best filipino bakeries I've been to in the US.“

“I found Taste of Home Cakes and cup cakes by pure chance. I was looking for a very specific cake to compliment my sister's baby shower theme. She was having a Frieda Kahlua baby theme. Armen was professional and extremely helpful. The cake was not only stunning but moist and delicious. All of our guest could not stop raving about the cake.
