“Hit up the New Nutmeg on Danielson Street in Poway. I heard their Scripps location closed because the landlord raised the rent so high it was unaffordable for them to stay there. We were a large group so we were able to order a bunch of menu items. There was a line but its a very popular place so we were not surprised. We started with some espresso drinks, and agua frescas. We had the Hearty Bowl, Avocado Toast, and Amazing Burrito. Some in our group had the new Grandpa's Breakfast Bun with the egg and spam, and the Porky. They are very flexible with special orders including one in our group who is gluten sensitive. We finished, sharing their in-house baked pastries (they have gluten-free pastries); the warmed espresso scones and cinnamon buns (don't ever leave without having the "buns"). I work in the area so Nutmeg is now my go-to for breakfast before work, or lunch. Its also located nearby Costco and Home Depot, convenient for a weekend meal before or after my weekly Costco runs.“

“Ordered a 20 piece senorita box, maple donut, guava malasada, bavarian malasada. The senorita bread was really good right when you get it. It comes out warm and the bottom of the bread has a slight caramelization. As it cools, it’s definitely not nearly as good. I probably wouldn’t eat it if it wasn’t warm. I toasted it in a toaster oven and it wasn’t as good as it was fresh, but still tasty! The maple donut and malasadas were only okay. Not something I’d order again.

“The staff here are amazing. The store is always in tip top shape. I'm always surprised by some of the specials they have here for things like plants or different fruits and veggies. It's probably the easiest parking lot of any local Trader Joe's in and around the area!

And I couldn't say enough about the staff. So helpful and friendly. They're really happy to be there and helping us all take advantage of all the goodies TJs has to offer!“

“I love the pastries here! I have been coming here for years. On this visit I purchased two fruit tortes for a pot luck. I chose the peach torte and the Alpine Torte. Both were very delicous! They were fresh, tart, sweet, and a bit crunchy (with the crumble at the top). It's everything you want in a torte, or a pie. The customer experience when I picked them up was excellent as well. Sophia helped me on this visit. She was very helpful and answered questions that helped me make a choice. Thank you! “This bakery is in between Ross and Mitsuwa. Parking is tight in this plaza where you’ll need to fold in your side mirrors and suck in to get in and out of your car.

Super cutesy vibe and pretty delicate desserts. Almost reminds me of Nothing Bundt Cake interior with merch, candles, gifts, flowers. Things you can pick up last minute if you’re on your way to a party. They offer cheesecake, cupcake, cookies, cakes and few others. Lattes, matcha, Hojicha, teas and lemonade.

I got the earl gray lavender cupcake and black sesame matcha Hojicha drink and lychee hibiscus tea drink.

The cupcake was moist, not too sweet, had some grittiness to it from the seeds. Tasted the earl gray and lavender combo. It was delicious, I could have ate the entire thing but had to share the other half.

There were a few tables outside but none inside.“

“I have been eating Maruketo bread for a while now and i can confidently say this is an amazing product.
When i first found this small business i was heavily dealing with an eating disorder/celiac combo. It was very hard for me to get back on my feet but after finding this bread it felt quite a bit easier. I know for a fact that this product is celiac safe and will be delicious every time. It is so beyond delicious that even my own self critique was ignored to enjoy their sourdough baguettes. The ingredients are top notch and leave me feeling amazing!
I know my case is uncommon from most, but i truly love this brand and everything they have to offer. Maruka and her family are all wonderful people who have showed me nothing but kindness since i first started buying from them. “Hidden gem. I'm not sure why this filipino bakery has so little reviews as the bakery buns are so good (way better than 85 Bakery down the street) and only $1 per bun right now. The pan de coco (Bakery bun with coconut flakes inside) is so good. It is located inside the Vinh Hung Supermarket, just inside the left hallway after you enter from the main entrance. Cash is recommended but I believe they also take card. One of the best filipino bakeries I've been to in the US.“

“Like a few others here, I am a native New Yorker with a love for authentic and delicious rugulach with proper and freash ingredients.Chewy's rugulach is the best there is here on the west coast.I pick up the chocolate rugulach at the cookie bar at Whole Foods Market in El Segundo, and you should too! “I’ve gone twice, and tried the matcha einspanner and the coconut pandan matcha. I prefer the einspanner, as the foam on top was slightly salty which compliments the matcha. The coconut pandan matcha was decent, and their other drinks (non matcha) are decent as well. Nice place to study, as they have outlets“
