“Very cute little shop with lots of pantry goods and visually stunning pastries. We got the ferrero rocher cake and the peach and thyme cake. Both were excellent. The price is on the higher end but I think the items we got were worthwhile - everything was fresh and flavourful. The staff weren't the friendliest but not really rude, since I've seen some other reviews about this. We'll likely go back to try more items.Parking: There is a garage built into the plaza. We had no trouble getting parking on a Saturday“
“Crumble cookies was recommended to me with a lot of hype. Usually when I hear a lot of great things about a place I am skeptical. Although they came with a lot of hype they surely lived up to it. I was amazed by the scent of the aroma of the cookies. The air filled with the smell of butter and baked goods. You know this is a high-end bakery when you see everything incased in glass walls. I came here with my wife and we couldn't make up our mind, everything looks so delicious. After 15 minutes of discussion and 5 minutes of recommendation from the cashier, we decided on the almost everything bagel cookie, Apple crumb cake cookie, and a salted caramel cheesecake. It took all of our willpower to not order more, so we were so tempted. My favorite out of the three was the salted caramel cheesecake, it had two of my favorites desserts ingredients, cheesecake and salted caramel. My wife preferred the apple crumb cake, she said it tasted just like a pie. I just love the atmosphere here, everything looks so clean and sanitized. I'm a stickler for sanitation especially when it comes to baked goods because I know that spoiled milk or butter can kill a cookie. I Appreciate everything that this place has to offer.“
“It's not a big store, considering the size of other Whole Foods. The biggest one I've been to is in Virginia, where it's pretty much the size of a Costco. But considering all the other Whole Foods I've been to in California, this is one of the smaller ones I think. However they seem to have most of everything I need. The one thing that I did find exciting is the Chia Pudding bar. I've actually never seen one before. Overalll, it's a bit cramped. I didn't get a chance to spend too much time there since I was in a time crunch. I hope to go back and walk every aisle more. My only complaint is that it's so damn far. San Diego needs more Whole Foods. I moved to SD from Pasadena, where there were 2 Whole Foods in that one city alone. I just wish they opened one more inland, towards the Poway area.“
“I love an Open Kitchen! Watching the Bakers work, using quality flour, and a clean environment, all the key indicators of a wonderful Bakery!I got the whole wheat focaccia and a baguette, Amy picked up a morning bun and an almond croissant, everyone loved the croissant, I heard remarks such as perfectly balanced, sweet but not too sweet and “did you finish it?” The baguette was sweet and begging to be made into a sandwich.I’m big into focaccia these days and I appreciate a whole wheat half pan, crisp on the edges, large pockets of air and a gentle finish of olive oil. This is a great snack and ready for any dipping or side action. The coffees were excellent! I had an oat milk latte with an extra shot. I’ll be back!“
“The food was amazing. I split the monte Cristo with my mom and it was the perfect portion and best monte cristo I've had since Disneyland.Parking: There is usually a lot of parking in this shopping center, but we came around brunch time and it was absolutely PACKED.“
“Love this place! I’ve been here twice and enjoyed it both times. It is so peaceful in here and I appreciate that they serve vegan baked goods. I had a blueberry pastry which was delicious and paired well with my Turkish coffee. My husband ordered the golden yogi, as he doesn’t drink caffeine, which was also delicious and soothing. Highly recommend!“
“I love this place! The donuts are unique and delicious and the portions and variety are perfect. I order regularly for catered seminars and they are always a hit. They also have great customer service and are always nice and reliable. Prices are reasonable too! Highly recommend!“
“Crumbl made Thanksgiving so easy last year with their holiday cookies. I was able to give everybody what they wanted without me having to back 3-4 different pies/cakes. Definitely ordering Crumbl for future holidays & special occasions.“
“This store has a great variety of treats, clothes, meal toppers, and aromas for your fur babies. Location is very clean, reasonable in price, and staff is very friendly and helpful. Definitely would come again and refer to friends and family!“
“Best pelace you can go enjoy coffe and fell like in haven for each bite of anny pastery and backery. Always somthing new ,amayzing energy and best part ,diferent thing for all tastes .Like magic if you come ones no way that you not come back ....This is my station of happiness!!!!!“
“I'm a fan. Came here after lunch to hit the sweet tooth, and loved everything about the spot. Got a little sample of a few things, and nothing disappointed. The Durian mochi was delicious, and i'll be back for it. Everything else was great, mochi was soft and bouncy, and nothing was overtly sweet. I'll be back!!“
“Uncle Tetsu has become a pinnacle in my family home . This is my one true cheesecake love! I was there in the grand opening , and tried it for the first time. Now here I am still going to this day. The quality is never lacking and you can tell that the workers, put so much love and effort in those cheesecakes. I hope they know how appreciative I am of them. Thank you Uncle Tetsu for such delicious food!“
“Authentic Italian Bakery! How did I miss this place?! So unassuming, hole in the wall bakery tucked in the corner of a shopping plaza. The pictures speak for themselves. Delicious and authentic. Don't come here expecting American style pastries or sandwiches. It's amazing and the quality is there! I've been to Italy, husband is from France so his expectations are always high when it's an European bakery. He loved the Italian sandwich and Italian ham especially. As for the prices, it's on par with the quality, did I hear imported Italian flour?! Yes. Italian family owned bakery where you hear them speaking Italian? Yes. Cute Italian mom and dad hanging out in the bakery? Yes. You can't get more authentic than that. My new favorite local bakery.Kid-friendliness: Yes“
“This is one of my happy places. Its by the beach and there's a thriftstore in the same little strip mall. The donuts are super as evidenced by the constant foot traffic and cars coming and going Its got a great vibe. My favorite is the orange glazed. They're all really good. They have more than donuts too. Enjoy!“
“Solana Sumptuous falls into the top 3 cookie places in SD county for me; specifically because they make a mean oatmeal chocolate cookie (OAT-M-G). I was introduced to this place by a co-worker who brought in several dozen for us to try on a couple of occasions. Ive had a few different flavors like their Solana Beach, PB, the OG chocolate chip, sea salt caramel, churro, and the Trifecta (stuffed), but the oatmeal chocolate is still my favorite. Single cookies range from $3-$4.50 depending on which one you get, and definitely place an order ahead of time if you're getting more than a few to ensure they have what you want. The in-store service is good and there always seems to be a constant stream of people popping in for a treat.“
“Great place to treat yourself to some nice dessert, as they serve big cookies and ice cream here. The main attraction is the cookies, with a menu of eight flavors that switch out every week. The cookies are fresh and delicious, and you can either get one for $5 or an assortment in a box. Overall, great little shop for some sweet cookies!“
“Went to PB Farmers Market yesterday and what a delightful surprise to find this coffee truck! The cortado was perfect and the blueberry lime cookies divine!! We will be back soon to their Garnet location! Well Done!Parking: Street parking and lots nearby“
“Wow! Have to say this place serve one of theeee best and yummiest cookies ever. I've tried various "popular" spots such as Levains cookies in NYC, Paderia in OC and Anthony's cookies in SF and I have to say this place is UP there! We tried the wonder which contains dark chocolate, coconut, walnut, and butterscotch, WOW amazing. Chewy and gooey. I'd be dreaming of this cookie for a while“
“Great little local coffee shop. Delicious tasting coffee, great service, and quickly through the drive thru. I really like how they use coffee ice cubes in my cold brew so that it doesn't get diluted with water, but with more coffee. Genius!“
“Cute little afternoon tea spot! The sandwiches were good and the scone was delicious. Top tray desserts were a little basic in my opinion. Soup was good, but it was lukewarm. Tea selection really good but one of our candles went out that was keeping it warm.“
“I'll admit, I'm still unsure about the pronunciation of this place, but it's become my favorite hidden Italian gem nestled in La Jolla. Saturday mornings here are my little escape - a cappuccino with oat milk and a pistachio croissant. The vibes are spot-on - a perfect blend of beachy, chill, and romantic. While I've had better croissants elsewhere, this one holds its own, landing on the better end of the spectrum. The cute cappuccino cup, complete with a little dried flower on top, adds a delightful touch. The food selection, in my opinion, is decent - nothing mind-blowing, but pretty good. If I had to choose, the salmon toast gets my vote over the avocado toast. However, it's the vibes, cappuccino, and croissants that keep drawing me back. I've already made this my go-to spot for those lazy Saturday mornings.“
“The curry pastry, Vietnamese meat pie, and bbq pork bun are all super tasty!! Delicious fillings with the perfect ratio to bun/pastry. I'll definitely be back to try other items, especially the ones on the sweeter side! Note: 3% charge on credit card charges“
“Went on a Tuesday around 12noon and it was moderately busy. So I know a weekend would be poppin. We still got a table right away. Servers/hosts and our waitress were all friendly. Food is definitely post worthy with all the colors and glitter. For mimosas, just order the flight, try em all! The pancakes were good but personally, the gobs of jam & blueberries & cream in top was slightly overwhelming. Still very good dont get me wrong, but if you enjoy a classic hot fluffy pancake, order one w less on top. I ordered at random since I was with a friend I had not seen in years and we kept yapping. My gf suggested this place, and has been here twice. Will definitely be coming back.“
“We ordered 2 trays of crepes and a tray of chocolate croissants for our family Easter party. Isabelle was fantastic in helping me on deciding which crepes were best for my order. We decided on one tray of savory chicken crepes and one tray of spinach crepes. Both were exceptional. Everyone in our family couldn't stop raving about them. Additionally one of our guests brought Isabelles fabulous lemon cake for dessert. That was equally a huge hit. I'm already planning my next order of crepes.“
“I just made my first purchase at Girard Gourmet. I learned about this place after a holiday lunch at which someone contributed a quiche from this place. The quIche was excellent, and that aroused my curiosity. Tonight I chose a chicken pot pie and a slice of lasagne. I reheated the pot pie at home for dinner tonight. My plate is all but licked clean. The flavor was laudable. Not a lot of chicken, but that's not as important as taste for me..lovely herbs, all of which I could not identify, but absolutely great flavor. So why only 4 stars? In my reheating, the bottom and top crust of the pot pie came out absolutely mushy. I looked on line for best ways to heat a chicken pot pie, and followed suggestion to cover with foil and heat at 350° for 20 minutes. Well, I only heated for 10 minutes, and then removed foil as suggested, for another 5 minutes. The pot pie was perfect temp, and not dry at all. But crust was a mushy mess. I can tell by the edges of the pie that original crust was perfect. I guess best test would be to order the chicken pot pie and eat at the restaurant next time. I'll happily repeat this dish.. Next dish I bought is a slice of lasagne that I plan to reheat tomorrow. I'll update review at that time. I was told by guy behind counter to reheat in microwave. I'm thinking there's a better way so I'll do some research..“
“We have purchased many cakes and pastries from this location and all very tasty. We have purchased our birthday cakes for our son and ourselves multiple times here.So many fresh tasty treats there and beverages too! There is also a option to sit inside if you don't enjoy the main eating lobby. I hope that they finds a new home in the new Zion market as Zion is looking to move around May 2024 or so.I love the convenience of shopping at both places in one trip. We'll see I suppose. Till then...Parking: Open parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: All one level.“
“Donuts are great, the maple-bacon bar is very tasty! On a whim the other day we got a couple of sandwiches from here, and WOW were were blown away! They were amazing , would highly recommend, and we will definitely be back for more!Dietary restrictions: They do have some gluten free options in the donut/(muffins?) Section.“
“this place is fantastic:- bakery is top notch (so hard to find a great baguette in SD ? )- the sandwiches on focaccia style bread are absolutely delicious- breakfast burrito way better than mexican place nextdoor- mediterranean salad so fresh and balanced“
“Came here for Biltong. The Biltong texture is a bit softer than Biltong from Stryve. It also has much less seasoning, so it means you can add your own. I enjoyed using truffle salt on mine. I also sampled the meat pie and meat croissant, which were unique and enjoyable. Overall, I do suggest Perky's.“
“I have been a long time lover of CAKES cookies for years. As a student at SDSU, I always made sure to grab a cookie when they were on campus. Now as an adult, I always make sure to grab one when I’m in the area. This year, my husband and I wanted to share our guilty pleasure as party favors for our wedding guests. Instead of purchase the catering box I made a custom order via their website which was so much easier to go over details. I ordered several dozen cookies that came with a few freebies ? they have so many customizable options that are perfect for a wedding or any event. I thought I would have extras but there were 0 cookies left over at the end of the wedding. I am still going to come and get more when I visit. Communication, service and guarantee of order pickup were perfect. THANK YOU CAKED FOR MAKING THE MOST SPECIAL DAY OF MY LIFE SO SWEET “
“Omg I love this banh mi; it is one of the biggest banh mi I've ever had, there so many meat inside and sooo good, and it is very cheap too. I would love to return and bring all of my friends because I also enjoy the environment at the store. It's very warm and comfy.“
“Food from heaven! I moved away from San Diego but I asked my friend to take balboa bakery all the way for me. My persian azizam pissed them off saying this is not even the authentic middle eastern bakery but trust me that little brown flower will make you forget what authenticity is“
“I love Sprinkles Cupcakes! At least the ones with cookie bottoms (ie the s'mores cupcake, the cookie cupcake). They are quite pricey (about $6 for a single cupcake), but they're one of the best cupcakes you can get. They're individually boxed so they make great gifts. You also get a free cupcake on your birthday if you sign up for their rewards! Sometimes their app is wonky though. They don't use their "pickup" window, so just head on in and let them know if you have a pickup!“
“I love a delicious seeded baguette! As I write this I am eating the last of my bread from 2 days ago, lightly toasted and it holds up. The whole wheat flatbread is surprisingly light, I imagined all of these dips and toppings and somehow wound up eating it plain. Right? Some pictures of the insides are included, beautiful bread!“
“I'm gonna leave 5 star because I love their bakery! Omg so delicious. Best brownie and salted Carmel and blondie bars. But I have to write this down again for owner to warn her employee. That same girl was treating me poorly was serving me today again. I didn't go there a while even I work just on same street because of that employee treating me like that but then I wanted to give another chance. I've been going since couple times. Other workers and owner is nice. But today again this same girl... I'm asking their other stuff, what is in it and what are they since I wanna try their all bakery. I just asked 1 item and she answered okay thank you, and then I asked something next to that. Her face expressions and her attitude which is making you feel very uncomfortable. You can read from her face that she hates you :) she didn't want to answer she was like "I'm sorry I don't hear you, it's the fan " or whatever she said I don't remember now. As soon as owner came out and was standing behind her, her all attitude completely changed. She started smiling and telling me have a great day etc. She made feel terrible asking questions for the purpose of trying their products. I wouldn't give tip to her, I wasn't giving whenever I see a bad attitude, but I left some tip today but not Because how she treated me, because their bars are super tasty and I love whatever I eat there. Owner probably knows who I'm, I gave so much detail for her to guess who I am. She has such a nice place and popular in here. I just wanted her to know so she can improve her business for even better!“
“Holy grail of cream puffs. This little shop is amazing. The cream puffs exceeded expectations by 1000% The cream puffs are light and airy, not too heavy, a perfectly light and satisfying dessert. Perfectly cooked and the cream is not too sweet. Highly recommended!!“
“I got a gift of a box... delish! Really elegant, and they would be perfect as a gift (which I enjoyed) or to set out as dessert for your next meeting or party! Very elegant, high-end, so don't get shocked at the price. You really do get what you pay for. I will be using them!“
“Great coffee & outstanding customer service! Greeted by a young male at the register who was very attentive and patient. The coffee here was great-vanilla latte with almond milk. I also enjoyed an almond croissant which is a new favorite! Will definitely be back!“
“Michele Coulon Dessertier has consistently delivered exceptional cakes that are not only delicious but also adorned with stunning designs. Their commitment to both taste and aesthetics is truly remarkable. As a devoted fan since 2006, I can confidently say that their cakes have never disappointed. If you're looking for the perfect treat that combines great taste and beautiful craftsmanship, look no further than Michele Coulon Dessertier. It's a five-star experience that has stood the test of time!“
“Having a coffee and croissant her makes me feel like I am in the south of France and not in a strip mall. Outdoor seating, French music over the intercom and delicious coffee and treats... even the owner (I believe she is) very pleasant and focused on her customers. If not the owner, she deserves a promotion. Very enjoyable.“
“Boo! Just learned this place had closed at the end of January 2024 when I was in the area today and was going to get some treats. Their scones and cupcakes and pies (pretty much everything I tried) was the best! Thanks for the memories and I wish you luck in your future endeavors.“
“Amanda and Gloria have such a delightful personality and are always hard at work making their customers feel at home with their beautiful friendly smiles. The food is beyound delicious and the atmosphere is very unique. I have been eating here many times and have brought in family/friends too. Everyone has been happy and thankful to have eaten here as well as meeting Amanda and Gloria ? A must visit spot!“
“Incredible and affordable breakfast spot with only limited outdoor seating. Very cute and country theme. I had a bagel sandwich which was great. They have a decent but small coffee bar for creamer, chocolate, or cinnamon. Good and fresh coffee. Scones looked incredible but u didn't buy any. Next time!!“
“Love this place! They have chagacinnos and wonderful healthy baked goods with organic ingredients and vegan gf options. Laron was SUPER sweet by helping me decide what to get and explaining everything so well. She is so kind and made the experience. Thank you! Will definitely be coming back anytime I’m in Del Mar.“
