“Wow the best baked goods in the world!! Nothing from a can here! Addicted to the Carrot Cake just tried the best Chocolate Cookies in the world hands down. Better than moms better than smiths. “The Stone House is truly a hidden gem in Bakersfield! If you’re looking for authentic Yemeni cuisine, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit.
From the moment we arrived, Ali made us feel incredibly welcome. His warm, friendly personality and thoughtful recommendations made our dining experience even more memorable. It’s rare to receive service that feels so genuine, and Ali went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed every part of our meal.
The food was simply outstanding. We ordered the Lamb Hanith and the Fahsah, and both were absolutely incredible. The lamb was melt-in-your-mouth tender, perfectly seasoned, and packed with rich, authentic flavor. The made-to-order fresh bread was amazing—hot, fluffy, and perfect for enjoying every bite of the Fahsah.
To accompany our meal, we enjoyed Mama’s Tea Milk and the Red Tea. Both were wonderfully aromatic, comforting, and the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the food.
And then came dessert…the Al-Maesub Al-Malaki, which was nothing short of heavenly! Rich, decadent, and beautifully prepared, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
Between the exceptional food, the warm hospitality, and Ali’s outstanding service, The Stone House has earned a place among our favorite restaurants in Bakersfield. We can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Yemeni dining experience.“

“Located on the corner of East Truxtun and Haley in East Bakersfield Emmanuel's Bakery is not the sort of place seeking headlines, but for locals and passers-by in need of freshly baked Pan Dulce the family-owned space offers everything one might want at a fair price.
Open at 4:30am daily for decades, neither the interior nor outside suggesting luxury, guests are invited to load their tray with tongs from either the plastic cases or freshly made trays ready to restock supplies until evening.
Traditional in its offerings, Concha and Guava Empanadas both residing adjacent tricolor Cookies and Pastel, Emmanuel's Donuts are light and fluffy while choices like Orejas and Besos are better than what one might expect in an area with little competition.
A proud part of the local community, staff exceedingly friendly even when English is limited, Flan and Tres Leches hide at the far left of a cold case but are certainly worth asking for as the latter offers an open Sponge with less sweet Sauce than most plus Fruits including Strawberries or Mandarin Oranges.“

“At 4 am on any given day the coffee is always fresh and the mexican sweet bread is warm and fresh out the ovens. They have these bolillos filled with cream cheese and jalapenos that are sooo good. When im in the mood for a hot out the oven sweet treat thats where i go every time!!!“

“This is the home of my absolute favorite donut ( powder raspberry fill).
My lovely lady is in complete love the pink champagne cake 🎂. The staff is so friendly and if you are not from bakersfield make sure to stop and try a local favorite while you are here.“
“Everything was absolutely delicious! We tried the chocolate chip cookies, sprinkle cookies, cupcakes, and the homemade pineberry lemonade, and everything tasted amazing! 🍪🧁🍋 The cookies were so good, and the lemonade was such a refreshing treat.
Lana and Jolana were also incredibly sweet, friendly, and welcoming. You can really tell they put love and care into what they make. We’ll definitely be back to try more! Highly recommend! ❤️“
“This lovely cottage bakery is an Eastside treasure! They are for take out, as they bake from their home. I picked up a steamy box fresh out of the oven today and they were so delicious! Soft and chewy, with unique flavors like Abuela chocolate- there is no comparison in grocery stores! Give these bakers a try, I'm sure you will be equally impressed!“

“Every time I venture into the mall, Auntie Anne's Pretzels is a stop I can't resist. Their pretzels are consistently fresh, light, and delicious with just the right amount of salt. In my opinion, they really do make the best pretzels around! I've tried other places, but none compare to the quality these guys provide.
What stands out, aside from the pretzels, is the service. I’ve never had a negative experience at this location – the staff is friendly and efficient, making it a pleasant part of my shopping experience. If you’re ever in the mall and craving a tasty snack, I definitely recommend giving Auntie Anne's a try!“

“Angelica's Bakery is a Bakersfield Original Legend!
They always welcome all kinds of customers with a smile and respect. The baked goods are always tasty, fresh and affordable!
My partner and I LOOOVVEEEE the Crema con Jalapeno Pan and it serves perfectly as a hot chip and pan dulce mashup!
The gentleman at the front is always so kind and understanding, and he definitely cares about the community and getting to know them.
The Bakery is always clean and smells fresh every time we walk in.
It's such a blessing and vibe to be able to walk into an original styled bakery shop, and I highly recommend it for your life experiences. It will mean more to you one day!

“We did not get a cinnabon. We got the Carvel Sunday. The prices are high but we come here just for the Carvel ice cream. For soft serve, it's pretty awesome. The girl was so nice and put the Sunday together just like my daughter asked for it. The chicken on a stick at the checkout looks so freaking good. I did not get it though because ...My concern was how long had all that food been sitting out there. There were mountains of chicken. Do they really sell it all in the required amount of time? I didn't see how that was possible. It sure looked crispy and delicious though. We were on a road trip and I didn't want to get sick by eating old chicken. This is a newer gas station and there is so much great junk food to eat here. So if you're on a road trip, you definitely should pop by nice atmosphere and nice people. Hopefully they'll respond here about whether all that chicken was just for display or if it really does sell out in the hour.“
