El Cholo - The Original Reviews
Was pretty good, loved the verde sauce and atmospheric grit. Was at the Hollywood Heritage Museum book sale today and saw the original vintage photos of the place. Very cool!
I wanted to try it because of its history, but unfortunately the food was flat and not spicy. This is old school California Mexican style food for people who can't eat spicy food. Our favorite drink

El Cholo - The Original offers a limited menu and beverages in a spacious, divided interior with good service and prompt food delivery. The dishes are served in large portions, and the restaurant is clean and odorless. The refried beans are a standout, bringing back childhood memories. While the rice may not be impressive, the overall experience is satisfactory. The restaurant is known for its friendly wait staff, who pay strong attention to detail, making it a great choice for large groups. The menu is varied, ensuring that many will find something they love, prompting customers to return. The restaurant features nostalgic photos on its walls and provides wheelchair accessibility with a great ramp. This Mexican restaurant is amazing, definitely the best ever. The bartenders are awesome and the drinks are always on point. For example, a Casamigos tequila on the rocks with lime juice and agave is perfect. Children are always welcomed, making it a kid-friendly spot for various celebrations. The chicken enchiladas were good, though the red sauce seems sweeter.
