I have tried many different rice cake companies and jihwaja is one of the best! Their dduk is sooo soft and chewy. I like chewy vs. some places their dduk has more of a bite. Not sure if other places do this but jihwaja also has the kkul dduk which are songpyeon looking dduk with honey sesame filling but the dduk is so soft and chewy AND you can keep it in the fridge overnight and it will still say soft like mochi and not hard. I think tteok is an acquired taste but the woman who works here is the nicest woman I've met in Los Angeles. She seems to really care about other people and was how I'd hope to be treated should I find myself suddenly in Korea knowing no Korean language or culture.
