Nanbankan Reviews
Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in LA. There’s something about this place where the food, ambiance, and service come together to create a wonderful experience every time.

This is a great restaurant that's been consistent for many years. High quality food, great service. A favorite go-to of the family
This is a delightful and delicious restaurant. I felt like I was in Japan but without the flight. They have many different types of yakitori, all prepared over a coal grill. They are tasty and healthy and really hit the spot.

Nanbankan is a cozy Japanese restaurant known for its delicious, uncomplicated food and attentive staff. The dinner set offers a variety of tasty options, including favorites like yakitori and small plates. Recently, customers have enjoyed dishes like Kobe steak, Chicken Liver, scallops, and tsukune chicken meatballs. The restaurant has a fancy and romantic atmosphere with white tablecloths and delicate portions, creating a somewhat formal dining experience. Sitting at the bar counter is highly recommended for a great experience, where diners can watch the grilling and enjoy fresh ingredients with quick service.
The chefs are skilled at timing the food perfectly, ensuring that every dish shines. Thoughtful sauces and garnishes enhance the premium ingredients used in each skewer. Diners can explore a wide menu that includes options like seabass, shiitake, and yakiniku, as well as organ meats like horumon and motsu. Customers praise the excellent service and the upscale yet cozy atmosphere, though some have noted that service can be slow and impersonal with multiple servers. The restaurant is often crowded, so it's recommended to make a reservation, especially for dinner. Overall, Nanbankan is a popular destination for those seeking a high-quality Japanese dining experience in a lively setting.
