A 2-hour flight delay from Los Angeles to Sydney is not so unbearable after all when the waiting time is spent at the Qantas First lounge. The lounge is spacious and has lots of power outlets (a real necessity these days during a layover at any airport). A great lounge. It is very exclusive only reserved for first class passengers on Qantas and other One World Alliance airlines who have at least Emerald status. This lounge is not crowded and has one of the best sit down restaurants at a lounge. For lunch I had Tomato and mozzarella salad. And my main course was the grilled stripe bass. Hits and misses here. The lounge is enormous, nicely fitted out in a Cali-mod style, and the showers (the yardstick by which I measure all Qantas lounges) are massive, well equipped, and well maintained. The food was a rather big miss, as was the service, which was curt at best.
