“Five stars for the food. For travelers passing by: no bathroom, outdoor seating only. The undercover patio was nice, though. Kids' meal options are limited. The only one they have is kids' bean and cheese burrito. But the food is not spicy, so my kids are OK with the adult dishes.“

“I was in town for an event by the Los Banos Reservoir. Afterwards I was starving, for something different for an early dinner. So I stopped in at Hot City BBQ. First off the parking is small to almost being non-existent, inside it is a little better with enough seating for several families.

I ordered the Tri-Tip with sides of beans and potato salad. The tri-tip was really good and they give you a good portion of meat. The beans could use a bit more spice but overall they were good. The potato salad was the big let down, it was flavorless. I added salt and pepper but it didn't really help, so I left them.

I was so full from the tri-tip I took the bread back to my room to devour later. I alos bought a bottle of their BBQ sauce which was really good and helped save the beans.

Overall this was a very good dinner. Yeah, the potato salad was flavorless, but I consider it filler anyways. I hope they work on the recipe.
