Often Mexican food tends to be dry compared to New Mexican which swims in sauce. It actually may be difficult to find authentic Mexican food in NM because fusion restaurants are the norm (a Mexican place that doesn't offer chile).) Visiting SF - where I briefly lived years ago - I knew I had to take advantage of the good Latin American options. We tried going to Breakfast Little but their power was out, unfortunately. Al Carojo across the street just started experiencing power problems, too. This was our third choice, but it might have been my first, if I had first found the listing. It was the authentic experience I was hoping for. My partner had the breakfast plate with chorizo and his was fantastic also. Too bad we live so far away.“

When sending in an inquiry, through their website, to see if they could cater our breakfast, they responded very quickly and were able to accommodate our needs. Their online ordering system was quick and easy to put an order in. Day of the breakfast They showed up right on time at 7am. The delivery guy was super nice. And then the food was REALLY good! “Hidden gem on El Camino! I stopped by S El Camino Taqueria on a whim and was shocked the place was empty—this spot deserves way more traffic.

I had the carne asada burrito and every single bite was on point. The meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled—no weird chewy pieces or filler, just quality carne asada. The ingredients tasted super fresh and well-balanced, like they actually care about what they’re serving.

Bonus points for the salsa bar—especially the avocado salsa verde. Creamy, tangy, a little spicy, and absolutely addictive. I could’ve put that on everything.

I should've added the sour cream, cheese, etc. but the burrito was still super good as is, especially with the variety of salsas. “Do you love going to Flavortown? How about dreaming with your eyes open? Then try these birria tacos. The first time I had it was from leftovers that my daughter brought home for lunch. Then I drove from Oakley to San Mateo to have them fresh. It was AMAZING! They provide extra stuff to add to the tacos, but it honestly didn’t need them. The meat was so tender & flavorful that I had to close my eyes so I could fully appreciate the taste. Then I added the extras one by one & it tasted like a new taco each time. I know it seems like I’m exaggerating, but it’s really that good! My only wish is that they had seating nearby & a second location closer to Oakley.“

I have seen many locations across the bay area.

Food: Most of the foods are grilled or fried. All of them are tasty and fresh. Many fish choices, sauces, and sites to choose from. My favorite sauces are garlic butter and Cajun. The fish and chips are very good with tartar sauce. The grilled sea bass fish are very flavorful and would recommend having sauce on the side.

Price: very reasonable price for portions of food.“

“Had a birria super burrito. The tortilla was nice, soft and tasty, however, the burrito and birria itself was quite dry. No amount of sauce helped saved this burrito. I don't even think I tasted the avocado. I probably should've just stuck with my regular carne asada but I'm not sure there'll be a next time for that. Given the restaurant's high reviews, I'm sure I just ordered the wrong menu item. I should've checked before letting my stomach decide. So yeah, skip the birria super burrito and order one of the other menu items recommended by others.“

“I live at the top of the road and I passed this for a year. I thought it was there because we have had a ton of construction on the road. Thought I’d give it a try… oh sweet baby Jesus I’m glad I did. The tortillas are made from SCRATCH!!!!! The meat is not grease the flavor is a chefs kiss amazing. Tacos are $3 a piece, that’s all I’ve tried but the my dying to try more. They have burritos and tortas. Def give this truck a taste you won’t be disappointed.

“Came for the camarones a la diabla (“Devil’s Shrimp”), which they don’t have on the menu but are happy to make it for you. I actually enjoy theirs more than El Farolito! Also HIGHLY recommend their pastor tacos. Their salsa is top-notch, which I am very picky about. So lucky I live two minutes away!
