The Rice House Reviews
My favorite authentic pot rice place in Bay Area. Clean and easy order via phone. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend this restaurant.
This is my favorite spot for claypot rice. The rice is always cooked to perfection, especially that delicious, crunchy layer at the bottom. My favorite is the chicken claypot rice.
It takes about 20 minutes to prepare, so call ahead to place your order before you arrive to save time! Also, make sure to sign up for their membership—the discounts are excellent and the prices are already very reasonable.
I used to order takeout, but one time I also dined in. Good food as usual, and the staff was friendly. And they don’t use pre-made food!

The Rice House is a claypot rice restaurant that provides both dine-in and delivery options. While the rice is initially crispy, it tends to become soft quickly in the to-go containers. Known for its flavorful soups and generous portions of meat, the restaurant has seen improvements in the dining experience following recent changes in ownership. It features a counter service setup and serves claypot styled rice bowls in plastic bowls, whether dining in or taking out. Customers appreciate the quality and plentiful ingredients used in the dishes, particularly the soups. The rice bowls are served very hot, maintaining that signature crisp. Although many prefer to order online, there are ample tables available for those who choose to dine in, with some outdoor seating also available. However, some reviews note that the meat to rice ratio leans heavily towards rice, which can leave diners with leftover rice. The restaurant accepts cash or Venmo for payments, and there is plenty of parking in the plaza. Overall, The Rice House remains a decent option for a casual meal, especially for repeat customers.
