“This is one of my favorite places to go! The wine selection is wonderful and the staff is knowledgeable about the wines. The food is incredible. We always got the bruschetta with burrata and it's great. The balsamic reduction drizzled on the top with pesto and tomatoes is just lovely. We recently tried the smoke, whipped feta. We had a hard time not finishing the whole thing, it was that good! I've taken so many friends here. My company has get togethers here from time to time. At this point this place is just part of my culture. Camp 4 has been in Modesto for a while and we are lucky to have it!“
“As a frequent visitor, I can confidently say that this restaurant in Modesto is a hidden gem. It's a place where you instantly escape the city's hustle and bustle with its quaint, inviting ambiance. What sets it apart is the chefs cooking right in front of you, and the owner's personal touch. He's often seen serving tables or even in the kitchen, and his attention to detail is impeccable. The ever-changing menu, featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, is seriously impressive. The food is consistently amazing and delicious. If you're in Modesto and haven't experienced this restaurant yet, it's a must-visit for a unique dining experience that keeps you coming back for more.“
“It is safe to say I found my new hang out spot! Whether for date night, or a little me time with my book; Stewart and Jasper's offers the perfect ambiance. They have a great selection of wine from local wineries and I can't wait to give more of them a try!“
“Review: Dec 9, 2023 I always stop at the Stewart & Jasper Co Store in Patterson on my way to Southern California. I love their blueberry bourbon pecan jam and chocolate covered berries but they have tons more stuff. Yummy sauces, nuts, salad dressings, cute gift baskets that are big and small, etc. The prices are reasonable too. The girl that works there is very sweet too. They have wine and wine tasting too. Go check it out. You wont be disappointed. ?“
“This Chicken Parmigiana from this restaurant tastes good. The chicken is deep fried and tasty enough that it can satisfy my stomach and my taste buds. The amount of mozzarella cheese is exactly what I needed so that the entire thing doesn’t taste too cheesy. Otherwise it tasted good. The price for this is $15.99. And this is what a $15.99 chicken parmigiana. I would recommend this pasta for those who like pasta or chicken.“
“We went here for the first time for our Valentines dinner this year. We had Brian as our waiter and he was fantastic. My wife has gluten allergies and he was super attentive to this all night. No headache the next day! Great job. The food was delicious. Everything we tried had great flavor and was cooked to perfection. This is NOT a cheap cafe. This is fine dining done well. The ambience was excellent we will definitely be back. Try this place out you won't be disappointed.“
“Waiter was nice enough, but he seemed rushed. We couldn't really understand when he was telling us about the specials. He spoke fast and couldn't understand. We had appetizers, & he did not come back to take our order for close to 20-25 minutes. Overall it was a great meal.“
“We came in today in hopes of tasting some wine and having a few appetizers. There isn't wine flights, and you are more than welcome to try different wines until you choose one of your liking. The restaurant is very small. I'm sure the outdoor space is utilized in the summer/ spring but the inside is very small. I recommend for you to set reservations because there isn't much space and there can be a wait . The waitress was friendly and was very knowledgeable with the menu and wine selection. She said the menu is updated weekly and food is local. We ordered a couple wines that were great and the Ghirardelli chocolate chip cookie dessert. Unfortunately, the cookie was over cooked. Overall, we will definitely try this place again in the future and order entrees next time.“
“Great food and friendly staff. We love coming to eat here as a family, and my toddler/preschool aged kids just love the food. The complimentary bread is delicious, as so is the rest of the food which ranges from pastas and pizza to hamburgers and fries. There is something here to suit everyones tastes. Plus, it's easy to get to in downtown Ceres, not far from HWY 99. They have a large dining area. The place is always very clean. The prices are affordable as well.Kid-friendliness: My young toddler/preschool aged boys love this place and the friendly staff.“
“Stopped in for brunch... great ?? service from the beginning we were seated immediately. The apple and bacon crostini was delicious as our appetizer along with our craft mimosas. Brunch dishes were on point as well I had the delicious chorizo hash and potatoes and we also had a Dutch baby...“
“An absolutely amazing restaurant, on par if not better than other local places like the Red Wood Cafe in Modesto or the Market Tavern in Stockton! A Matter of Taste brings unique made from scratch dishes that are expertly crafted, served in a wonderful atmosphere! We had the fish tacos and chicken piccata, with pretzels as an hors d'oeuvre, and had their chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Don't sleep on their house made desserts which are amazing! Hands down. Best cheesecake I've ever had, and I've tried a lot of cheesecakes! Not only is the food amazing, but it can't be beat at this very reasonable price point! The service was also impeccable, big thanks to our server Dean! My wife and I will be coming back for a fancy date night soon!“
“The drinks are on the pricier side but it's the type of establishment where it's so worth it. The food is fine for finger food and to have with your drink, the staff is sweet and attentive they really go above and beyond. The vibe is definitely classy, and relaxing. Live music nights are for a cute date idea.“
