Dive Bars near Monterey

“Ya gotta go to the Trident Room at the Hotel Del Monte on the Naval Post Graduate School campus/grounds. The building is old and simply amazing. Check out the huge ballroom before going down stairs to the bar at the Trident Room. When we went inside for drinks and appetizers on a Saturday night during Car Week in Monterey County, we were greeted by several bar keeps, waiter/servers and such. All three guys and the lady working the bar/tables were beyond polite, courtesy, spirited and had their acts together. It really seemed as though they were happy to be there and enjoyed their jobs. We had some great Manhattans and good wings and tomato soup. You must check out the history on this place and this room. I bet lots of sea stories and war stories have been discussed here. A worthwhile stop here indeed.“

“I'll start off by saying I love dive bars. So naturally, Alfredos is my type of bar. It's a cash only bar with an ATM inside. They don't serve any type of food. They do, however, have a menu from a business that's right across the street. They do deliver! Awesome! Bartender and company are very friendly! 5 stars from me! Cheers!“
