“From start to finish. Welcome to departure and everything in between what a meal. Perfection in plate presentation, temperature and oh my Lord the flavors. This is Monterey County’s very best restaurant. Service is also excellent since ownership duo lead that effort too. Place was full of very happy customers but is always is. Our #1 choice. “The soufflé was very good.
The service was attentive but not too overbearing.
The biggest issue with this place is the exclusivity. You have to book weeks in advance. They’re only open. Monday to Friday and only for a few hours over lunch.
It seems more like someone’s hobby restaurant. Even with a table open. People get turned away.
I know soufflés are a very timely endeavor and preparation is involved, however when all you do is soufflé I think you could make it more accessible to everyone.

“This is one of our favorite places in Carmel, and one of the oldest restaurants in the village. There are always a number of daily specials. I chose the cassoulet special, which was amazing: filled with duck and pork, with a crispy crust. It was very rich, and the leftovers tasted better the next day. We also had the escargot and the French onion soup. The service was very attentive. All in all, another great meal. We will be back the next time we are in Carmel.“

“Everyone should have the full dinner at least once but once you get the vibe then sit at the bar or the super comfy patio and order a la carte.
Service is absolutely charming and worth the price of admission. The menu changes a lot but if you see the abalone skewers then they are a must have.
Cocktails are approachable and match the vibe perfectly. It's a regular stop for us.“

Markus who commented below w/ a 2 star rating, and prefers croissants from Costco, has very bad taste. I am glad our paths will not cross when I pick up another batch of croissants from Patisserie Bechler in the future :)“
