“Five Crowns is the more bougie version of your average Lawry's across the nation. According to the server, the reason for its namesake is because this is the 5th store to open from Lawry's. Parking is across the street and you pay $8 for valet. Service could be a bit slow and you are notified that your prime rib will take 25mins to come out. Unlike Lawry's, Five Crowns does not push out the prime rib cutting cart and your food is brought to you already cut. Another difference lies in that you do not get a salad for your prime rib meal but that's not a huge concern imo. Everything tasted good, however just a bit under "salted" but you are given Lawry's signature salt and pepper on your table for your use. Imo Five Crowns is not worth a visit unless you really enjoy the decor around the restaurant. Your average Lawry's is much better imo.“
“During the time I walked in there was beautiful weather outside ; wide open were the restaurant's doors to peep' the scene. I ordered the London special and enjoyed it! I was given a package of malt vinegar for the fish along with tartar sauce the cooks offer too. "Absolutely nothing wrong with that"Later, a friend told me the place probably has a chain of restaurants scattered across parts of the UK and other areas of the US. It's perfect for Fountain Valley.“
“Pamela and her team have been amazing ever since their last location and I’m so happy to see they found a new home in such a lovely location! Their tea selection is amazing, and I appreciate their shoppe having lots of treats from Europe.“
“Decided at the last minute to do an English tea with my sister and nieces. This was exactly what we were looking for. The tea was wonderful with a wide variety of different kinds. The tea sandwiches were very good, but the real star of the meal was the scones. They were fantastic and the cream and jam just made them perfect!“
“The restaurant was jumping, with a wedding party next door but the kitchen was wonderful, getting our orders correct and timely to the table. We had the most upbeat and adorable waitress, her positive attitude and smile lit up the room. One of our party said "shame the poor girl is so depressed" because she was 180 degrees from that, just a great attitude and excellent service. Our friends split a prime rib dinner and the kitchen got it perfect - medium and tender meat. Our friend asked for mashed potatoes with no gravy and they brought another serving for him right away. I had the chili which was meaty and spicy, my husband had their great burger also cooked perfectly. Except for a large table next to us it was possible to carry on a conversation in 'inside voices" for most of the evening. We'll be back.“
