The whole thing is savory. It’s wrapped in banana leaves. Not sure if pampangueño tamales come in different types, but the ones that Valerio’s sells have chicken and sliced boiled egg inside.*Side Note: The spinach and tomatoes in one of the pictures was made by me. Definitely not available at Valerio’s.“

“I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.“

“I always get this place delivered. The shakshuka though...it's incredible. The tomato sauce is so tart and salty and flavorful. The runny eggs are always cooked perfectly. The spices and aromatic flavors make this dish addictive. Classy little drizzle of olive oil and herbs. But don't forget the bread. So chewy and soft! Omg it's amazing. First thing I do when I land in LA and head to my office, I order one of these. It's a big portion, I never eat it in one sitting. But it reheats well. I wish I could say more about the rest of the items on the menu, but I've never made it past the shakshuka.

We just ordered 3-dozen custom designed cookies for his 4th birthday, and they're adorable and delicious and they rushed our order to make it all possible in time for pre-school. “I decided to eat here with my family for breakfast after the first day of Hanukkah and the owners communiciated with me that it will be around 35-45 minute wait for food due to high number of customers ordering on site and online. Sat outside but decided to walk inside to order latte's and bake goods meanwhile. Inside is DEVINE. It was full of customers waiting to buy the Chanukah donuts (seasonal only, I was told) and we ended up taking to our table all 14 flavors of delicious mouthful. and took another 12 special assorted flavors to go to gift to our family friend. Time went by quickly shared with my good company and inside this family-oriented environment. Everybody was working hard, and the food was worth the anticipation. My family and I walked out pleased and impressed by their quality. We will all be coming back in again.“

“I recently visited Vanak restaurant, and it was a pleasant experience. The place is cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere perfect for a casual meal. The staff was very friendly and quick to take our orders.

My son ordered Joojeh Kabsb, which was juicy and flavorful, served with a side of rice. I ordered Abgoosht, and I loved how fresh and well-seasoned it was. It reminded me my childhood traditional abgoosht places in Tehran.

The prices were reasonable, and the portions were just right. Overall, Vanak is a great spot for a quick and tasty meal. I’ll definitely be back.“

Never had such a moist spongy cupcake in the Valley. We ran our design by them and they said they could do it. “This bakery offers a lot of the traditional goods a panaderia would but also has an impressive menu of food and drinks to try. Their asada burritos and tacos are always so tasty and well marinated. If you are a fan of extreme spice, then try the salsa they offer, otherwise it's fine the way it is. All comfort food served by some of the friendliest people.“

“Milagros Bakery is a charming little spot with a great selection of baked goods. The pastries are fresh and flavorful, and you can tell they’re made with care. Their pan dulce is a standout—soft, sweet, and perfect with coffee. The conchas, in particular, are some of the best I’ve had in a while!

The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, and they sometimes run out of popular items later in the day. Also, while the staff is friendly, the service can feel a bit rushed when it’s crowded.
