“A Taste of the Philippine IslandsThis bakery, and their Panorama City location, sells pampagueño tamales. Valerio’s is the only place I know that sells them.The masa is very fine. The whole thing is savory. It’s wrapped in banana leaves. Not sure if pampangueño tamales come in different types, but the ones that Valerio’s sells have chicken and sliced boiled egg inside.*Side Note: The spinach and tomatoes in one of the pictures was made by me. Definitely not available at Valerio’s.“

“I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.“

The restaurant feels alive. No two tables are alike, every corner is decorated, and live flowers are all over.

“I come by here at least once a week, the bread and pastries are baked fresh daily and the workers always treat you like family. It doesn't look like much from outside but it's my go-to local bakery. I would highly recommend the jalapeno bread with creme cheese, but come early because they run out often by noon.“

“Inside, there is only room to order food and buy bread. Their cinnamon roll is pretty good, but served cold. Their everything cookie is delicious. There is ample seating outdoors for brunch, and servers are nice. The breakfast sandwich is good, and their standouts are shakshuka (absolutely delicious!) and the chai latte. “Really good Persian food and one plate would be able to feed 2-3 people. I got a plate with chicken, steak, and Koobideh which was served with basmati rice, Shirazi salad and a tasty bread on the bottom of the meat. The bread gave it a nice texture and a savory taste. As dessert I got a hot tea with baklava that was made from turkey and I highly recommend it, the baklava has no fructose syrup at all and was made with natural ingredients like ghee, and was so moist compared to other places where I’ve had baklava. The service was incredible our server was very attentive and gave us good recommendations! I will definitely be coming back“

“I decided to eat here with my family for breakfast after the first day of Hanukkah and the owners communiciated with me that it will be around 35-45 minute wait for food due to high number of customers ordering on site and online. Sat outside but decided to walk inside to order latte's and bake goods meanwhile. Inside is DEVINE. It was full of customers waiting to buy the Chanukah donuts (seasonal only, I was told) and we ended up taking to our table all 14 flavors of delicious mouthful. and took another 12 special assorted flavors to go to gift to our family friend. Time went by quickly shared with my good company and inside this family-oriented environment. Everybody was working hard, and the food was worth the anticipation. My family and I walked out pleased and impressed by their quality. We will all be coming back in again.“
