“I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.“

“My absolute new favorite restaurant! We were visiting family in LA from Chicago and they took us here, I ended up going three times in my one week visit. Cheese stuffed zaatar and the sojouk kachopuri were my favorite and the garlic chicken wrap was my husbands. Honestly everything we had was delicious and the kids kept asking for the pepperoni pizza and mini pizzas.“

“So I had to get a gift for a friend who lives in Florida, and I am up North. I had ordered from Marge's Bakery in the past but not for a few years and was thrilled to find them again. Jeanette, the kindest, most thoughtful person on the planet took my order and included an amazing array of vegan cookies and 2 vegan mini breads, gift wrapped it up with a lovely ribbon and shipped it out for my friend to get it on his birthday. He absolutely loved everything, but he said the vegan lemon cookies and the mini carrot cake were real stand-outs (and he's very discerning when it comes to desserts!). It's such a joy when you find a place that really comes through for you quality-wise, with customer service that is caring and makes you feel like an old friend. Best bakery ever!“

“I hate to leave a bad review. However the one at Topanga does a deal for Buy 6 get 2 for free. I thought it was the same here. I was going to buy 6 and the employee told me I could only get 1 for free. I ended up only getting 3.They tasted like they were on display all day. Tasted very stale and did not taste like the ones I have from Topanga. I love the cookies there but it was a let down for Northridge. I'm very disappointed and will only go to Topanga for now.“

“EDIT: Another appointment, another Leo’s Superfood pickup order. 💅 I had a couple online orders that were not made the way I requested since my initial review, however, my online order this past Friday was made correctly to order and it was absolutely perfect in every way, (righting past wrongs)!! I ate my last flapjack warmed with nothing on it the next day; they’re that good! In fact, their pancake recipe is something I legitimately wish I had to emulate at home. Moreover, you can’t go wrong with the tofu breakfast mini burritos!! I get both every time as a creature of habit! Xoxo

“I got a bunch of stuff from Delicious Bakery and it is all so good. You can’t go wrong with any of their loaves of bread – they’re all so flavorful and the texture is so much better than anything from the grocery store. It’s light and fluffy, not dense and heavy. The onion rye is a standout. I also got a bunch of sweets and they’re irresistible. I find that Jewish cookies are often dry and crumbly, but that’s not the case with these cookies. They’re all delicious, but my family’s favorites are the cinnamon hearts, apricot and raspberry butter cookies, and the mini linzer tarts, which aren’t overly sweet. The kids also devoured anything with sprinkles, confetti, or mini m&ms on it. There was one more cookie I have to mention: a large marble cookie with a chocolate thumbprint. It wasn’t chewy but it wasn’t crunchy, it was perfectly in between, and the perfect balance of salty and sweet. I highly recommend Delicious Bakery if you’re in the valley, and even if you’re not, it’s probably worth the drive.“

“The types of bread at Tous Les Jours Bakery and 85 Bakery are quite similar, but I find Tous Les Jours to be less sweet and much more to my taste. The store was clean, and the bread was fresh. It seems that Tous Les Jours is a little more expensive. I'm looking forward to it opening in Stevenson Ranch.“

“We’ve ordered from Papillon Bakery in Northridge several times now, and every single visit has been consistently great. The food is always fresh, tasty, and very reasonably priced, which keeps us coming back.

Some of our absolute favorites are the potato pirashki, cabbage pirashki, nacho cheese empanadas, and of course the custard and Nutella ponchiks—everything is always warm, flavorful, and perfectly made.

Today my husband, who is very picky, decided to try their lahmajun for the first time. He loved it! It was crisp, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. That was another win for Papillon.

“They have a special that runs on Thursdays with pupusas revueltas 🔥👏😋, which love and appreciate. They dont give tiny pupusas because they're on special. They give you a good portion size one. I also get other pupusas and they're incredible as well, and the salsa is actually pretty impressive compared others. I'd definitely recommend their food. I always order mine to go and they're this sweet cashier who's customer service is top tier. Ill get her name next time 😉.“
