Charlie May Coffee & Tea House is an inviting, vibrant, and warm spot to grab a cold brew, hibiscus tea, chai latte, and/or delicious baked good. The owners are true Town folks who provide space for great local caterers, artisans, and dog lovers alike. The empanadas are out of this world, especially the champinones one, and their coffee is very good—the Americano is amazingly strong with great aroma and flavor. The morning atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming with great chill vibes, and the artwork adds a unique touch. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, and the origin story is amazing, with recipes sourced from the owners’ grandmothers and rooted in Austronesian heritage. This BIPOC & woman-owned gem is tucked away in a residential area of the east bay, with lots of great plants and greenery, a dog friendly patio, and thoughtful touches like books and little toys for kids. A gem in the middle of the Woods worth the trek.
