“Went here for a bday party because we were told there would be gogo boys on Friday night.
There were no gogo boys
A bummer for our bday boy.
Asked the bartender and he told us their FB page hadn't been updated in a long time.
It was also strange that for a Saturday night they had no DJ. They had YouTube on shuffle. Requested music eventually because we heard the same Michael Jackson songs on repeat for the first hour 😅“
“The environment is great. The bartender friendly. The food tasty. They have an outside patio. And they just started doing Comedy Shows spotlighting the LGBTIA comedians“

“Yes the drinks are great, they make thier special drinks as well. Mocktails too! All the tvs work and theres always something going on here. And more importantly , the white horse is a legendary place with a rich history from our LGBTQ communities. The new owners recognize this and have honored this legacy in its revival and new iteration today. It continues to support our queer communities, every generation continues to be welcomed here. Its like chill living room lounge feel with a lively back den party at times.“
“It was just the sort of down to earth place I had been looking for. They have an assortment of domestic bottled beer for $5, as well as liquor, etc. Met several nice and friendly people the first time I was there, and I was only there an hour or so.“
“I was in town for the Folsom St Fair. My entourage decided to take a break were we stood. We landed in front of the Hole in the Wall Saloon, through the black tarp we discovered a world much different from the one we just left. A world of dim lights, music, men, skin, and sticky floors. It was the best time at a bar I ever had. I showed up with a pride t-shirt and left with a harness, a gift from a stranger whom I only knew for 20 minutes. Everyone was fabulous! Thank you for the memories.“

“Jolene’s is everything a neighborhood bar should be.
This place just gets it. Great energy, friendly bartenders who actually seem to enjoy being there, and a crowd that feels down to earth and inclusive. The cocktails are strong (and surprisingly well-balanced for the price), the music is always on point, and the vibe walks that perfect line between chill and lively depending on the night.
What really stands out, though, is the sense of community. Even if you come alone, you never really feel alone here. People actually talk to each other. It’s a spot where you can dance a little, have a drink that isn’t watered down, and just be.
Whether you’re starting your night or closing it out, Jolene’s hits different. 100% recommend.“
“I had a great time and the Bar Staff was fun and friendly. The best part is that it turned into a BLAST of dance party thanks to the DJ!“

“You know, I was among a select group who were regulars there from 1997 - 2008, which is arguably the heyday of the bar. In fact, I bought so many drinks and merchandise there for myself and my friends that I fully expect a bronze plaque to be placed on the bar because fer chrissakes, if you people had kids I would have put them through medical school by now. I even have a photo on the patio of my mother and me at the pre-wedding party they held for my ex and me. How about we get some of the past patrons to help out by adding photos to your gallery? Hmmm?😜“
