Based on the reviews, Chef’s Wok & Dumplings is a re-brand of the former Joyee's. The restaurant serves authentic Shanghai-style cuisine in North County. Some dishes have changed; the spicy boiled beef and cumin beef now have a much more subdued and milder flavor, though the meat on the cumin beef is much more tender. The dan dan noodles and spicy wontons seem to remain the same. The spicy crispy chicken was improved. The honey walnut shrimp was okay but not worth ordering again. The orange chicken is a favorite, and the cream cheese wontons are almost better than homemade. The dumplings and soup were very good. However, the custard buns had the texture of liquid sand and were not good. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is extremely good.
