“Was strolling the Ave and walked passed this place. I did peak in as I walked by but thought "ooh pretty dead for a Friday". Something told me swing back and head in. I took a seat at the bar where there were already 2 seperate groups on away from each other. A cool chill lad approach me and made me feel welcome and handed the bar menú. I glanced and opted for the Áloe Margarita which was light, fresh and much needed.

After leaving me drink, the nice lad told me his name Danny and saw he already had a lot of kudos on the reviews. Def recommend this place.“

“Came here on a Thursday night to enjoy a paella pop-up and it did not disappoint. Very good and innovative selections of wines along with a fun atmosphere. Especially appreciated the displays of vinyl and old videotapes. An excellent addition to the East Bay wine scene.“

The Double Standard is my Holiday standard in Oakland. They really go all out during the holidays. Drink menu, decor, everything. Their lovely Coast redwoods are the Christmas trees!
Eggnog, brandy drinks, hot buttered rum, antique Victorian sounding drinks in specialty holiday glassware. All delicious.“

“Most fun and delightful. Aesthetic is nouveau. Bits of island, IKEA and kitsch all in one. The server was just fantastic. One really needs to know where this lounge is. I looked twice, but found no sign. Kava has maintained a really good consistency over time. Booch on tap... yummy.

“The staff here are AMAZING! Is this a dive bar? Yes. Are they gonna look at you funny is you try to order a speciality cocktail that you’re used to getting downtown San Francisco? Yep. But that’s the whole point, you’re here to drink traditional and familiar fantastic drinks! I started coming here with friends a while back and over time many of the bartenders and other employees became like friends! As a woman I always felt safe as they had their eye on everything going on, and I always had a blast anytime I came. Specifically, Peppi and Michelle, really went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. I had to move away and they spent money out of their own pockets to throw my a going away party at the bar. I have never experienced a closeness like this to an establishment where I’m a guest, and it was very appreciated. I am moved away now and very much miss the service and atmosphere I had at Lucky 13!“

“Popped in for lunch to check out the newly opened H&T and loved it. The brisket was delicious with a side of Vaquero beans that packed plenty of flavor as well. I could see the bar is well stocked with a great selection of spirits as well as a bunch of quality local beers on tap. Points as well for having a quality N/A offering. I received fast and very friendly service. Looking fwd to visiting again soon and wish this new business the best of luck as it was obvious that plenty of heart & soul is invested at heads & tails.“

“I loved this place and I had a good time there. I don't drink a lot. I had a single beer here with a friend and I really enjoyed my time while I was there. The bartender was friendly. I had a beer and my friend had a virgin cocktail. Both tasted great! ????

“It was my first time to this iconic venue. I saw one of my all-time favorite bands play, Steel Pole Bathtub with the Antler Family opening. This is a quaint little venue and people come from all over the Bay Area. It's also run by all women. It's also not far from the BART station.“

“If you're looking for a cool, funky-phresh, time capsule, of an old-schoolish bar with tons of Alameda history, (part of it was literally a horse stable decades ago) then the Boathouse is definitely your place. Great selection of beers, and classic cocktails. Great bar food, and plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is right. The owners are locals and are really committed to the community. It's actually the best damn neighborhood bar in Alameda, bar none!

“I was really impressed with Copper & Malt. The layout makes it very easy to find what you’re looking for and Ashley is very knowledgeable when it comes to wine. I recently tried an orange wine and was surprised how much I liked it considering I usually prefer red wine. I also tried a bit of sake. Since I don’t like the taste of alcohol, I was surprised how smooth cold sake is. I’m no longer turned off to sake and would recommend doing a sake tasting if you’re new to it like me.“

“Wow Ruby Room is back, as soon as I’m leaving after living here 15 years on and off… new ownership, waltzed in on a Tuesday at 10pm and the atmosphere was great. Great speaker system, still the same classic decor, nice vibe and people…. I will miss this place. The fact that this place isn’t packed 247 leaves me curious why.

Also, the sound and acoustics are fantastic, not sure if they updated after new ownership or if I’ve just not been here in a while“

She worked with me to figure out which of her several party packages would work best for me -- she truly offers something for every price range! Once we hammered out the basic details, Jennifer made sure to capture the smaller ones too. For example, the party I hosted was a surprise party. She asked me to share a photo of the guest of honor, to ensure that none of the staff accidentally ruined the surprise when we walked in. The music, drinks, staff, and atmosphere were all great. Loved the back patio as some extra space to grab some air. Since we came during the holiday season, the bar was beautifully decorated with ornaments and lights, which made everything feel so fun and festive. Overall, can't rate this place highly enough. “We went on a Saturday and it wasn't as busy as we thought it would be. It's conveniently located next to Walmart which has everything. The beer was good. The pool tables were nicely spaced out with good vibes all around. The lower level area is very chill and relaxed. I liked everything about this place and enjoyed playing my game. Security was friendly.“
