* Tamales are rather large.
* Flavor if chicken, pork, and rajas are good
* I appreciate that they advertise tamales are not made with lard
* Masa is soft even after re-heating. Almost too soft it falls apart
* Pricing is not bad considering the size
* Fast service, I appreciate the labels for each flavor

Cons
* More masa than filling
* Vegetarian was disappointing. Vegetable filling looks like it came from a can (peas, corn, carrots, green beans) It would have been better to just label the bean and cheese vegetarian.
* We ate all tamales except “Vegetarian”
* The woman taking our order did have quite an attitude.“

Maria Restaurant / Restaurant Maria is truly a great hidden jewel in the center of San Fernando, California. The Mexican food is delicious, and the customer service is excellent!
I ordered the Chicharrón en salsa verde (pork in green salsa) — absolutely mouthwatering. My mom had the famous Menudo, and she loved it. Everything came with large, soft handmade corn tortillas — fresh and perfect with every bite. We also enjoyed their Café de Olla — I couldn’t resist having two and a half cups. Simplemente delicioso! ☕️
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and to top it off, there was live music from two well-dressed golden-age gentlemen singing and playing their guitars — such a lovely touch.

“Oasis for vegetarians/vegans! In the dessert of Chiclana (where everything is fried) a simple place where the cook knows how to cook vegetables! I had ravioli with eggplant stuffing and fresh tomatoes on top, then caponata Siciliana and grilled vegetables. Everything was perfect! Nice people and good price! Imagine your grandma opening up a restaurant and has been working for 52 years! This place would be it. Great traditional Mexican food. Everything is made fresh. tortillas made on the spot you can hear the masa getting its flat form. Did have to wait but food is definitely worth it. Has some parking in the back. Highly recommend!!

“Dank. I got a juicy carne asada burrito, and my friend asked the chef for quesabirria tacos (even though they weren’t on the menu). The chef hooked her up anyway, which was super nice - and a total testament to how fire this place’s food is. Great authentic Mexican gem in the area.“

“This place absolutely slaps. I wasn't able to communicate well because my Spanish is bad but the lady behind the counter was very patient. This birria is absolutely incredible, the meat is moist and the tortillas were so soft!!! Extremely flavorful and the Red sauce has just the right amount of heat. This place will definitely be a regular haunt. Highly recommend!!! ??“

“Been coming to get menudo for at least 2 years and love the menudo. But after they opened the restaurant ( before it was just takeout) the menudo has not been the same. I would always recommend this place but this last Friday I went to buy 3 menudos to go, came home and was telling my sister how good this spot was we started eating it the meat was extremely hard on all 3 orders it was not cooked through. I ordered “pata, nervio “ uneatable. It was my sisters first time eating from here and it was disappointing that I could not take this plates back, if I was at the restaurant I would have send them back. This has happened twice since the restaurant opened. They might just be focusing on other recipes and not menudo. I hope they’ll continue with quality of the menudo. I will probably give one more chance if not gotta find another place for it.“

“After years of passing by, I finally stopped there on a Tuesday. Enjoyed a carne asada burrito. The following week I had a couple of tacos. I enjoyed those as well. Their red salsa is tasty. Service was quick considering the line. The personnel were very friendly and professional. Only minus? The outside needs a good pressure washing. Keeping a clean exterior would show customers both appreciation and respect.“

“WOW! I was getting a little impatient while waiting for my order, because it was “just a food truck”. But when the food was ready, the care with which they prepared it was evident. We had shrimp tacos, marlin plate, and ceviche. Everything was excellent! My wife said the best shrimp tacos she’s ever had. This quality food could easily be served in a higher-end restaurant.“
