“My favorite thing here is the sopa de res, it's pure comfort food. It comes with 2 tortillas and a small side of rice, I also usually ask for a small side of curtido. I'm not that familiar with Salvadoran food, so I was thinking Mexican tortillas the first time I ordered, but it's the soft, thick, handmade Salvadoran corn tortillas. So yummy. Enough for two people (or one very hungry person like me). It's not cheap (I think around $15) but totally worth it. The pupusas are also tasty. It takes about 15-20 minutes to prep the food, so you might want to call it in ahead of time if you are in a hurry. $1 extra charge if you use a credit card. Employees are masked. They sell gallinas rellenas and tamales de pollo for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When I went last week, the hours on their door were 9am to 7:30pm every day. The people who work there are really nice. I don't know how much English they speak. I show up speaking bad Spanish and they roll with it.“
“Excellent quesadilla. What really stands out for this hard-working team of ladies is the SALSA. They have the verde (bomb), the roja (spicy), and crema, but the middle bucket is the real deal heat. Once I asked for mas picante, I was given a shot of it. Incredible.Definitely check this place out!“
“This restaurant is my preferred one. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this restaurant I keep coming back again and again. The team is very friendly and the cooking they cook is so good. I never miss an opportunity to have a good meal in this place. Highly recommended.“
“The carne asada was freshly cooked upon our order, and the pupusas were made while we waited. The meat was well-seasoned, and the cheese used for the pupusas was delicious. It was a very tasty and reasonably priced meal. My daughter and I enjoyed it so much that we plan on coming back again.“
“We've been here a few times. The tacos are always on point. Portions are big, and they don't cheat out on the meat. We got al pastor, birria, quesataco w/ carne asada, and lengua. All were . The unit thing I didn't like was that we had to order the consume separately, which doesn't make sense when ordering any birria tacos. I got the house beer, which was pretty good... tasted similar to Modelo. The vibe was dope with tvs, bar lights/ signs, and plenty of dine in tables.“
“I always order for pick-up but the place is great the service is marvelous and the food is delicious can't go nowhere else for authentic Mexican food best place on earth recommend it highly give it a try you will be back promiseParking: Limited space for parking due to the other shopping center shops“
“I really recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Oaxacan food. I’m from Oaxaca and this is my favorite place, it’s like to be back in town. The service is good, they are friendly and they always welcome us and remember us.They have a good pan de Muertos, their bread it’s authentic.“
“Now simply called Tamales House (on Nordhoff). Been coming here since 2000s when my kids were attending OLP School. A whole in the wall. This time, I bought some for potluck. Everyone who tasted it at the party loved it. The masa is cooked to perfection! When you place your order, they ask if you like to buy it cold or hot. I always get them hot. It is to freeze/ref any leftovers. They have a wide variety: chicken, beef, pork, strawberry, corn, spinach, etc. My fave is the jalapeño and cheese flavor. And, don't forget to ask for the salsa verde. ?“
“This is a hole in the wall restaurant that seems to be a neighborhood favorite. There are not many tables inside, but they have a lot of covered seating outside behind the restaurant. Parking is limited, but we found some nearby at a strip center. 4/5 - Complimentary Tostadas: Served with pico de gallo, salsa and bean dip. Really good. 4/5 - Horchata 4/5 - Eggs, Beans & Carne Asada: My husband requested this (since it's not on the menu) and they made it for him. He was very happy. 2/5 - Beef Machaca: The beans and rice and tostada were really good. I didn't love the machaca though. The food came out to 3.5 stars. Service was friendly and attentive, so I will bump it up to 4 stars. I think this is probably a good lunch / dinner location.“
