Van Nuys' best places for Mexican cuisine are in our list.
“We liked it a lot! I went with my family, and all the dishes we ordered were very well served and delicious. We ordered birria, a fish fillet, some tacos, chicken fajitas and Menudo. Excellent service and the place is very cozy.I highly recommend this place!!“
“I've been coming here since I was a kid but the new owner Marcos is definitely the coolest man/owner! He treats everyone like family and I love that he personally walks my order out to me every time. We chat like we've always known each other I think it's awesome! Highly recommend eating here! I eat here once a week and bring it on the golf course with me every weekend!“
“Best breakfast burrito I've had in quite some time. Best part was that they let me sub potatoes for the meat. The burrito came out quickly after ordering at the counter. The lady who helped me was incredibly nice and offered some extra salsa (the spicy salsa was perfect). The burrito had tasty potatoes, fluffy eggs, and a good portion of beans, wrapped in a warm, flakey tortilla. Don't miss it!“
“I'm so happy we found this place. Love this style of Mexican restaurants. Staff was so friendly as soon as we arrived, and I loved the look and feel of this classic style that is well kept. We had steak and shrimp fajitas, shrimp mole enchiladas, Fiesta platter and pina coladas, all so delicious! Clean, friendly staff, great service, good prices, and portions. Plenty of parking, would recommend ?!“
“I have to say, for the price that they sell their food at, and with the portion size and flavor, this place is definitely worth trying. I stopped by here on my way home once because I've never had their food before. I saw they had loaded fries and knew I had to try it. Today when I went, the place looked very clean, and the people who were sat down and eating looked very content with their food. The man who took my order was very nice. He was quick to go help back in the kitchen and help prepare/package my order and a different order as well. I didn't have to wait a very long time since the restaurant was fairly quiet. When I got home, I noticed there was a complimentary small bag of chips and pico de gallo. They were super tasty, and the pico de gallo had a little kick to it and very flavorful! The loaded fries themselves were also full of flavor, with the jalapeños on top adding a good amount of spice. I wish they would add more cheese, and I usually don't like loaded fries that have regular shredded cheese instead of the melted nacho cheese, but these were really tasty even without that! I just couldn't be mad with what I received, especially because the asada meat I got on top was also flavorful, which can be rare to find at other places that have loaded fries. Everything was really great, and I can't wait to come back here again!“
“Bff and I made a long drive to this place to try the seafood parrillada which includes no rice just like 6 tortillas. The food was good, the fry fish was one of the best! The restaurant is very small, inside a small plaza, parking can get hard to find. Prices vary from average $12 to $120. Complimentary chips and salsa.“
“Food taste home-made. The caldo de pollo, caldo de res, and burrito mojado (Wet Burrito) are my favorite. They usually have the red wet burrito but I ask for it to be custom made in green Salsa with extra cheese and sometimes carne asada with shrimp. My most favorite breakfast choice here are the: "Chilaquiles Rojos" Combo. It's really good.My husband's favorite dish is the "Bistec Talpatiqueño" Combo. It comes with macaroni salad, 2 quesadillas. Also their fresh aguas frescas are really good. They have: Melon, Sandia, Horchata, Jamaica. Some could be available. It varies on the day.The seating is good to dine in either for couples, a small family and also a bigger crowd. Service is great, friendly- family oriented. Your food is ordered Infront, if you dine-in waitress or waiter will take it to your table. They have restrooms outside behind the building.“
“Incredibly cool service, very responsive and friendly staff, reasonable prices, the place is always very clean, smells nice and is cool and very cozy,I also, of course, want to note that the cuisine here is very very excellent, very tasty my recommendations))“
“This is my go-to taco spot in the valley! Parking isn't that great considering that it is at a park, but it's not horrible. The tacos itself is what gets me going back and the customer service is good. They have a lot of options and the price is affordable as well.“
“This is one of those places that I wish I could visit more frequently. The food, freshness and quality has not changed. As in most instances and food establishments, only the prices have gone up.I still enjoy these mexican sandwiches, which are completely different than the common torta. The bread, the meat, cheese, and other ingredients make this sandwich "cemitas" the best in town and maybe all of LA and I will even say Orange Counties. I have tried other cemitas, however I have to say, most other places do not have very fresh ingredients or do not use the same ingredients like avocado or jalapenos. In any event, I will do my best to come here a little more often since I do plan to be in this area a little more frequency.I highly recommend this place, just know that parking is tough because they share with other businesses, laundry mat and liquor store.Due to the amount of customers, you might also experience a wait and many times they will not answer the phone as they are tending to customers that are present. With the size of the location they cannot have more staff to help with the output, and yes the food is always fresh.“
“We had a great experience tonight. Not only was the food to die for but the servers were the absolute best. The salsa was a little too spicy for my wife so our server, Janet made her a mild version. How kind! She made the best salsa too, it was so good that we ate it with a spoon lol. She was also very helpful with the menu. Our Order:Grilled Snapper - the whole fish consisted of 4 fillets and it was DELICIOUS. Awesome flavor and Janet brought us a homemade sauce that was the perfect addition... sauteed onions and tomato.Shrimp & Octopus Cocktail - this was another one that I ate with a spoon and didn't even dip a chip or cracker because it was THAT good.Everything from the ambiance, chips, service, meals was perfect. We'll be back very soon. Thank you to the entire staff... especially Janet!“
“This spot is the one! I’ve lived in the area for ever and just discovered this hidden gem! You have to pull up with an appetite and come ready to eat some solid food. Glad i found this spot on Google Maps.I got the Bisteq Ranchero & some tacos. It was absolute fire, wasnt able to finish it because the proportion was very decent. Customer service was great and Ive also put some pics below! ?“
“Inside was okay, a couple of tv's playing the news. Food was great, but they did get my order wrong since I wanted to remove a topping. Speaking of food, I would say the food reminds me of a sort of premium mall food court. The service was nice, but the only thing that I do not like is their metal trays, reminds me of a cafeteria.Vegetarian options: Everything on there seems to be easily substituted with veggie options.Parking: Designated Parking Spots“
“Their food is great. The molcajete can be shared between three that's how big I felt it was. Their drinks are delicious I got one drink it came in a coconut it was sweet and creamy it had so much juice they had to bring it in a separate cup. Their micheladas preparadas are good too they put shrimp around it. Sometimes it can be very packed depending on what time you go but it's worth it and the environment it's always friendly, both times I came I got to listen to mariachi“
“Just delicious. My dad is a total hater of any Guatemalan establishment because he says they're ever good here but he is in love with this place. Authentic flavors, great customer service, absolutely delicious. We got the shuco de salchicha, mole de plátano & tostadas and it was all so good. I will be returning many times here to this little taste of home. If you're in the mood for some delicious Guatemalan food you are in luck.“
“Ordered family style kabobs and rice with various side dishes, and everything was great! Tender and juicy meats! Plenty of rice to share! Yogurt with cucumber, yogurt with shallot and shirazi salad are terrific, plus Persian flat bread for dipping. I would definitely go back.Parking: Giant shopping center parkingKid-friendliness: Food for all agesWheelchair accessibility: Easy access“
“This blue ocean themed restaurant was excellent. My dad was dying for a seafood restaurant, and Mariscos Puerto Angel delivered. The portions are excellent, the food is good, and the price is right. We just ate camarones a la plancha and al mojo de ajo. Both were tasty. If I lived in town I would eat here more often!“
“Come experience the excellence of Mariscos Vallarta Grill, a five-star restaurant renowned for its delectable cuisine and impeccable service. Indulge in complimentary chips and salsa, along with savory soups served before your main course. As an Argentinean and with my wife hailing from Mexico, we relish every bite of the exquisite dishes. From my order of Chilaquiles Rojos to my wife's choice of mixed Fajitas, each dish is a culinary delight. Trust me, visiting this establishment will leave you grateful.“
“I've lived in Mexico but had never had this in my life. Unfortunately. This is a flavor bomb! All the ingredients are super fresh and good quality. I had the Cecina asada the first time and the marinated Cecina the second. Both are very good, but maybe the Cecina was better. I like the jalapeños better than the chipotle sauce, it breaks the grease of the food. You cannot dine there, you pick up your order through a small window. Make sure you get the string cheese. It costs 2 additional dollars but makes all the difference.“
“This is my favorite vegan Mexican spot. They have the best food and it’s fairly affordable considering it’s vegan. I always get the Al Pastor burrito, cause it’s packed with flavor. They have other amazing items, but I tend to stick with my go to option that I listed. Overall, I am never disappointed when I go here, cause for the price the burritos are huge.“
