“So i’ll be the one to say it. This place is absolutely delicious.
The scenery, beautiful. The service; I tend to be a person who doesn’t ever look the most cleaned up—when i’ve gone to sizzler, ihop, places of that sort i’ve been treated as lesser, dismissed, given burned food, etc. Today, at this location I felt human for once. Wonderful service. Cleanliness? My goodness, this place is SPOTLESS. And the food? I cleaned my plate, and finished my horchata. The low review about a stupid policy, online ordering, are just entitled people who didn’t get their way and want something to complain about. It’s a shame because this place is genuinely so good, and many people will overlook it because of a couple reviews from people wanting to spread their bad day to a business. Please give this place a chance. It should be packed everyday. I have literally no complaints. 10/10 across the board.“

“CARILLO'S SAVED CHRISTMAS. This Christmas eve, my uncle and I realized we forgot the tamales which have become a tradition in our family every Christmas eve. We set off to find some, but around 5:00 on Christmas eve the odds weren't looking great. Our go to is the Carillo's in San Fernando, but they had already closed for the holiday. Coming from Sunland we called around and this was the only place to pick up. Even though they were closing we told them we were coming from 40 minutes away and they waited! We got there as quickly as possible and they even unlocked the door for us when we told them we were the ones that called. We picked up 20 tamales 10 chicken, 10 pork, and 2 quarts of salsa. We got back home and the tamales were hot and tasty as ever. So so grateful for the amazing service even on such an important night of the year, thanks to Carillo's our Christmas tradition was saved. Carillo's family and staff we will never forget this, a true Christmas miracle. Thank you.“
“Very good buritto, server and the crew are very kind. 5/5 ❤️❤️❤️“

“We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Casita! Brittany, the concierge, and our server Delilah provided exceptional, warm, and professional service that truly stood out. The food was not only delicious but also incredibly flavorful, and the atmosphere was simply stunning—inviting, elegant, and perfectly suited for a memorable evening. We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed every moment. This was an experience to remember, and we’re already looking forward to coming back soon!“

“At Villanueva Mexican Restaurant, embark on a salsa odyssey that elevates the ordinary to extraordinary! Their legendary salsa bar, a carnival of flavors, turns each bite into a fiesta. The shrimp fajitas, while promising a flavor explosion, waded through a sea of gravy, a twist in our culinary tale. Though this unexpected plot thickens our journey, the salsas alone make Villanueva a treasure worth exploring. It's a solid four-star adventure, where every dip transports you closer to Mexico. Dive into Villanueva for a taste escapade that’s almost perfect – just watch out for the gravy waves!Recommendations:Their salsa bar!
Vegetarian options: Few vegetarian items“

“I just moved to the area and I saw this little spot. I have lived in the valley for 30+ years and was very disappointed with the choices of Mexican food well I'm so happy I found this place. 30 years in the valley and I just found this place. I will definitely be going back again and again. The gentlemen running and cooking were so nice and on it.“

“I had to pull over on my drive back to the Central Valley just to write this review. I am absolutely amazed. This place has, without contest, the best vegan meat substitutes I’ve ever tasted. The Al Pastor may legitimately be better than the best quality I’ve ever had with pork. The spices and sweetness are perfect, and every piece is soft and melts in your mouth like the fatty bits would in a traditional pork version. I will 100% be coming here any time I’m remotely near the area.“

“One bowl (comes with chips) will fill you up for around 14 dollars before tax. The food is well made the assorted components work together well. The fried pork belly here was nice, crunchy and oily - a generous portion as well.
Tacos are quite pricey (5-6 each) in comparison, but that's mainly due to bowls being such a good deal.“

“Why not go straight to the manufacturer for the areas freshest tamales. Factory is in the back, and they have a modest little front facing store to purchase your favorite flavor tamales, soda and a small patio in the back if you want to eat it there.“

“I revisited this place after years, having been a regular from 2007 to 2014 growing up. Surprisingly, nothing much has changed, except for the owner sporting grey hairs and the welcomed addition of card payments. The familiar great taste of the food, horchata, and salsa remain the same in a good way.“

“we have been going to this restaurant for a long time. we love their food But we noticed that they changed the portion size! We understand that everything is getting expensive but they made portion size way little. I ordered vegetarian quesadilla and always ordered and my husband ordered torta and both orders came out too small!! they barely put vegetables inside so we really did not like it!“

“I started eating at Campos in the 1980's in Santa Monica. I was delighted to find one in Simi Valley when I moved my family here. The food has been consistently delicious for 40 years! Ground beef hard shell tacos, the "panzon" burritos (enchilada style) and Chile relleno are some of my families favorites. And don't forget plenty of salsa, which is arguably the best in the world.“

“OMG my husband Ron and I just had burritos from Bros. Tacos and it was amazing. Ron had a California burrito and I had thier shrimp burritos. The flavors are amazing everything is fresh and tastes great. We also got horchata which was the best I've had in a long time. We definitely recommend this place and they were born out of the Pandemic so show them some love. You won't be disappointed.“

“With taco trucks being all the rage this is one that you need to visit. The Birria Tacos here are bar none the best that I've had. Don't get me started with their other offerings of burritos, here. They are big full of flavor and well worth the price. The quesadillas are my next favorite, but believe me everything here is good.
Parking: The only thing about the parking here is that there's just a few spots around the truck that are available so it's going to be a walk if you have to park right on the street. If not, the business that is right in front has a big lot where you could just sit there and eat your food after you get it just make sure it's on the weekend. I'm pretty sure they're not too happy if you're parking there during the week.“

“A very nice and cozy place located in Sylmar. Food was well seasoned and the server was friendly and welcoming. Parking is a bit small but there's street parking as well. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much were the beans, they were slightly under cooked and bland, the rice and asada burrito were really good. Pancakes were moist and fluffy as they should. Carne asada taco was also really good however if you don't like it spicy ask for salsa on the side. Overall a nice welcoming restaurant.“

“I stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to have dinner while working in Van Nuys for the evening. I had seen a photo of their taco plate on a Google review. So that’s what I decided to get. The man who took my order was polite and professional. I ordered the al pastor tacos with rice, refried beans and tortilla chips. I also had the agua de jamaica to drink. The price was very reasonable. After I ordered I walked into their dining room, which was small but comfortable. They had an open salsa bar which included red salsa, green salsa, coleslaw and radishes (all very fresh and tasted good). My food came out quickly and it was all delicious. I ate so quickly I forgot to take photos lol. Thank you, El Ranchito. You have a customer for life!“

“Go! The tortillas are actually hand made, the asada is flavorful (not that unseasoned stuff down the street) and the tacos are very filling. I ordered extra tortillas and they forgot to put them in our bag, the lady ran out to bring it us in our car and gave us extra tortillas! Customer service like this is rare. Give this a try it will not disappoint!“

“Went on a Sunday for lunch wasn't expecting a brunch menu but wasn't disappointed once we got our food. I was drawn in by their regular menu but they didn't serve any of these dishes when they serve brunch. But I guess it gives me another reason to go back to try other food.
For the brunch, my favs were the churro French toast and the queso birria con huevos, Churro French toast had three full slices not too sweet but sweet enough and the queso birria was so delicious especially when you dip it on the consome. They have a full bar and had bottomless mimosas as well as flight. Loved the vibe. They had a DJ playing the jams. Not sure if this is just a Sunday thing but would definitely go back to listen to good music, watch games and of course eat and drink. Service was very attentive and prompt. We didn't have a reservation but there were able to move a table around so we didn't have to wait long.
There was valet parking if you can't find street parking.“
