Barney's Beanery is a historical restaurant with a cool vibe and Hollywood roots. The newly rethemed downstairs tiki bar has a very well-done atmosphere. The Rueben Sandwich, Taco salad, and pizza are delicious, with the chili being a must-try. Drinks are decent, and the service is good, especially on the second floor. However, the music might not cater to an older crowd. The restaurant's side patio offers a pleasant dining experience, but it can be marred by smoking from nearby establishments, such as the Kebob Restaurant, which does not follow Pasadena Smoking ordinances. Nonetheless, Barney's Beanery is a great place for food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere.
