I love matcha green tea ice cream but never had a chance to try the soft serve version. I was skeptical that I would like it because every time I try matcha green tea anything, it would taste more like vanilla. I was shopping with my brother in Pasadena when I noticed the tea shop I loved was replaced with this store. I felt a calling so I decided to act on it and try it. To my surprise, I loved it! Came here with my friend after eating at the nearby burrito place. We were looking for dessert after wandering through the different shops in this area. We saw "matcha" and were sold instantly haha. The girl at the register was super friendly and helpful. She answered our questions and even offered us samples of the soft serve without us even asking. Matcha Kone continues to impress me with their matcha confections! I am a matcha enthusiast and find the potency and flavor of the matcha here a true delight, living up to its name. Though I prefer to have mochi and rice balls/ red bean on my self serve, I definitely think this place makes up for not having these toppings with the superb flavor of the self serve.
