“We had a great time at Gritz N’ Wafflez! The vibe was like home. We live in the south so we love grits. They were creamy and delicious. The drinks were fresh and refreshing. We ordered the chicken basket and it was wickedly delicious. The way the chicken was prepared, widely woke up our taste buds. I don’t understand- Bruh…you are running a restaurant, and while food is important there is a reason why every food review platform in the universe has a rating category entitled service. If you can’t be the least bit courteous than take park your grumpy self in the back where customers don’t have to worry about offending you by placing an order and providing you with their credit card.“
“First off, the prices are pretty reasonable for the area. In the Arts District where you can expect your coffee to be $7, $9ish for a full cocktail is not bad! I've enjoyed everything here, the fried chicken in particular was well-seasoned. The only thing I thought was meh was the fried broccolini, the batter was a little too heavy for me so I didn't finish it.You seat yourself and can either order using the QR code at your table or try to flag someone down, but mobile order seems faster. There is also self-serve water.My only suggestion is that sometimes it can get quite sunny so would be nice to have some kind of shades when the sun is getting low and get in your eyes.Update: sounds like the shade issue has been resolved since I've last gone! “I went for lunch with a friend during the week. It was near the holidays, so pretty empty. There was one guy working the tables and the service was fine (he was friendly but took his time to come over).They definitely give you large portions, which I was happy about. I had the jambalaya and my friend ordered the salmon croquettes. Both were seasoned well and the accompanying corn bread was delicious. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because the chicken in my jambalaya had a slightly rubbery, processed taste/texture. Maybe I had a bad batch but to have such an important ingredient not work left me slightly disappointed.But I still enjoyed myself enough that I would go back again. I'd just have a different dish.“
“Best BBQ I've had in years! The meat was incredibly tender, and the sauce was it's perfect pairing. My husband and I LOVED the mac and cheese, too, it's unlike any I've had before in flavor, and the most perfect creaminess. My husband was rabing about the thick, delicious chili as well. Our waiter/host/bartender was the nicest person and made us feel so comfortable in a town we've never visited before. I highly recommend this restaurant for food, service, and homey ambiance!“
“Besides the friendly service and great food I was privileged to see an elderly couple walk in and take all the recyclables from the trash can and were greeted with an awesome hello from the lady up front. I'm glad she allowed them to take the aluminum cans and not kick them out like other places.“
“Very tasty and flavorful. Pretty heavy though. Fries are good for the first few bites. Afterwards, need some sort of sauce. All burgers and sandwiches are generally good. The smash burger is affordable, and the patty is decent quality, but mine was a little bland and started breaking apart. Their briskets are decent -- tender and flavorful. Will definitely return.“
“I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before...but it is one of my favorite fried chicken places in LA. The fried chicken is absolutely in my top 5. The chicken is the star here--forget about everything else except maybe the gizzards--the chicken is why you come to Dinah's. Having said that prices have really increased here like a lot of other places these days. In four short years, the two piece lunch has gone from $7.65 to $13.60. I don't know about you but that seems a lot higher than the current inflation rate. Not picking on Dinah's, but just making a point.“

He was friendly and so prompt that we never at any point lacked serve.
